I’m not the only one who feels like the HX reverbs and delays leave something to be desired.

Yeah, they could both stand to be improved. One of the things I like about Fractal delays and reverbs is that they’re more prominent due to a different mix law and the EQ options. They just plain sound better. The HX delays seem to need close to 50% mix to be almost as audible as Fractal’s at pretty much any lower mix value.

HX reverbs aren’t in the same ballpark quality wise as the Fractal either. At least not the ones that sound like natural spaces. I can get okay results but they are not Strymon quality.

Capturing? Probably not. But with cloud processing I’m wondering if AI can be used to determine what effects are in play on a signal and then be used to dial in corresponding effects on the unit.

I have not been the biggest fan of the L6 reverbs and delays either. I'm not saying they were unusable but I kept finding myself not quite satisfied. I haven't tried them in a while though so it's certainly possible they've added some that I might like more.

I'm not the biggest fan of the QC's reverbs and delays either. Same deal--they're not unusable but not all that inspiring either.

This is why I have the VP4. If I do end up with a Stadium (and I already got on the waitlist for one) I can just put the VP4 in a loop if I want and be GTG. I get that folks would rather not feel the need to do that; I'm just saying it's not a concern for me.

Edit: Also I love having rack-style reverb, delay, chorus, and stereo micro pitch where they are all in parallel with a dry path. It's kinda tough to do that in the non-fractal units. I was able to figure it out for three effects in the QC though.

Why would you need new effects that can ONLY run on the new DSP?

Great algorithmic reverbs need plenty of CPU power. Great polyphonic pitch shifting (especially at low latencies) needs even more. Etc.

Yeah, convolution is great for conveying a specific acoustic space (or as you say, things with special acoustic properties, like springs), but they tend to be less musical than algorithmic reverbs.

IRs also allow you to do some wild stuff. Should I post those "Frog Orchestra" or "Crumbled Liquorice Bag" reverb clips again?

I’d prefer they were available at launch. This launch. Maybe if I say it in multiple languages, such a complex statement would be easier to grasp. Perhaps backwards would work for this crowd. Yoda style: “Available I wish they were. While at launch we are.”

And you'd possibly end up with something from Boss. You buy what you get at launch and pretty much nothing else.
Don't get me wrong, some of their products are great. But they just get no serious ongoing support. Heck, they don't even manage to fix certain longstanding bugs or other serious issues. Let alone that their amp modeling offers just can't keep up with the competition at all. They might've been decent at launch but quickly fell behind.
So while at one hand I'm a fan of buying a "finished" product, I came to the (personal) conclusion that I prefer ongoing support over it. Sure, the initial product should be fine already - but in case of the Stadium I have zero doubts that this will be the case. After all, you get full HX Floor functionality, a bunch of possibly great new amps and an incredible level-up regarding all things usability.
