I get it and you might find the additional 4x12 Greenback with a different mic that I suggested to be too much. Make it your own, but start with the REVV Purple/4x12 Greenback cab combo, fasho.

I will say I think the C90 is the ideal speaker for Mesa high-gain amps (even moreso than the trusty V30) and it pairs nicely with the HX Mark IV Lead channel.

I like it on Stadium more than I ever did on Helix, anyway FWIW.

Especially now that I have the EVH 112 with a C90 and that split back cab loaded with C90s; I really want to find an up to date equivalent in this generation IR form.

What's funny is that he just released another video checking the QC's latency after the 3.3.0 update, with similar (or outright worse!) results compared to the HXS, yet his tone seems way more forgiving here.



But yeah, i genuinely don't get why everyone over there is whining about 3ms. That's a ballpark figure for every major modelling device in the market.

He is just a hack that downloaded some software that he kinda sorta knows how to use, but his actual understanding of how to do a meaningful test and what the results mean is completely lacking. It's like someone who never cooked much more than a hard boiled egg who then bought a fancy stove and learned how to turn on the burners and oven on and off, so he started a YouTube channel like he is a master chef.

He seems like an OK dude, and actually a pretty good player - even when he keeps doubling into those horrible AI vocals But...

... that's the part which pisses me off a bit. He keeps putting out these so called "scientific" tests which are quite flawed in methodology, and i've rarely seen any pushback on them. Look up his old videos measuring latency, or recent ones trying to put numbers on profiler accuracy.

That's how you get 8 page threads on TOP about device X being better than Y because it clocked 0.8ms less in latency or something.

Yes, I was referring to latency. What is the problem with the way he does null tests? He establishes a good baseline and measures integrated lufs properly AFAIK, including going to the trouble of aligning phase.

LUFS measurements are K-weighted, so each frequency is weighted to roughly correspond to the human hearing, a low frequency signal will be measured at a much lower dB LUFS level than a mid frequency of the same dBFS level... so that's a non-issue

It's still an issue. You're correct that K-weighting de-emphasizes lower frequencies... which means i can construct a null-test result with very audible garbage on the low end, and still have it measure better in LUFS than a NAM plugin.

Doing null tests the Leo Gibson way is an entirely valid approach, don't get me wrong, but...
