Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

Ya out of the gate for higher gain at least the 2 most are liking are the SLO and BognerX red

I love the REVV Purple too, but honestly.....the ENGL Fireball HX model is ranking with all of the Agoura high gain models. It sounds even better than it did on Helix just at default settings.

PRS Archon also seems to have a little extra juice to it. Not sure how.

I've not really gotten in too much with the Agoura EVH 5153 yet. I put it last on my Agoura high-gain amp rankings for now....

Coming from an Axe-Fx III I'm finding the path options fairly limiting.

For example, say you Y-split from 1A and start 1B with some blocks, and then you want to merge that into 1A but at the same time continue 1B after the merge point with other blocks and either merge to 1A later or whatever options you normally have if the path goes all the way to the end.

I've heard this so many times already. I'd like to know if it's just excitement or if there's any reason to it.

I keep going back to my LT and even Helix Native with a pretty good and recent Presonus interface.

And I'll keep saying it: In my home studio, I hear a difference with those amps in the Stadium hardware. At this point, I don't wanna keep going back.

Well, my super serial preset finally has all 4 amp models Agoura. I changed from Poly Capo to Simple Pitch and it's really not that much different for the couple of songs I use it for Eb tuning. All I have besides all that is a wah, a script phaser, a tremolo, dirt pedal, volume pedal, post cab EQ, and one delay block and one reverb block. If I ever want more complex effects, I might have to switch to three or two Agoura models, I will say the HX amps sound better in the Stadium hardware!!! Loving it so far!!!

The Acoustic Sim is really opening up for me in Stadium in a way it never did in OG Helix. I'm dropping it into all sorts of patches that I just used to run just with the Clarity amp. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I run it in parallel with the amp and cab, and am getting some really good acoustic sounds out of my Taylor T5z-12. I have found that bumping the level WAY down on the acoustic sim (like -11 db or so) provides a great mix.

Also, I haven't found a single Helix patch that I can't collapse to one signal path on the Stadium. The DSP in this thing is incredible!

Anybody else getting lag when changing snapshots on the device?

My footswitches respond instantly but the blocks on the device and the audio take a moment to change.

The acoustic sim is quite nice actually. For as much as I want to turn a flying V into a Martin or whatever :bag

Have you tried it with a really simple preset - just amp, cab, delay, reverb?

Is it happening on ALL presets, even factory ones?

Has anyone compared loading IRs in the Stadium vs loading them in a daw using the Stadium for the amp model?

So while I do think Stadium sounds great, and it’s got a phenomenal interface, I think I’m not the right use case for it. I’m just not much of a tweaker. Never left my office. Screen protector still on. Will ship with all original boxes and twist ties; no candy tho 😞

If anyone wants for me to pass along the great MF deal I got to them, let me know.

$1966.19 (you cover shipping) or local pickup in SoCal (I’m located in Temecula, but work in SD). PayPal FF preferred or happy to do goods and services if you pay fees. I can send along my Reverb shop for feedback.

Happy to hold off contacting MF if someone is serious about it, but I’d like to get this moving in the right direction mid-week.

It's even better if you run it in parallel with an acoustic IR. I add an EQ (after both lanes sum up) to scoop out a ton of 750hz mids.
I thought I had some somewhere but I couldn't find them and was good enough with what I was getting.
