Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I feel like it will be, but they hired DSP people whose specialty is reverb, so the Helix Stadium reverb slander is probably going to be "Hold my beer" moments for them after the last slate of "Dynamic" reverbs.

I think algorithmic and convolution reverbs should co-exist peacefully in this thang. Same way that Agoura amps and Proxy captures should.

I'd be interested in knowing if Focus View has exposed some optimal/different settings for the Reverbs.

I'm starting to feel like there's a whole pile of "coming in version 1.x" features in the pipeline here, so I'll probably sit and wait for y'all to find the quirks and pitfalls and see if I want one next year.
Totally fair, but when 1.2 drops, we'll do the same with 1.3. When 1.3 drops, we'll do the same with 1.4. When 1.4 drops... Suddenly you're looking at a you-know-who situation.

Yeah I know. I've got a birthday at the end of January so that might be a nice spot to jump in as the smaller HX Stadium should be out...

PS. What do you call the two models internally? Do you talk about the HX XL vs HX? I feel like I have to mention something like "non-XL Stadium" if I want to talk about the smaller one.

I did some kind of super wet, modulated, and moist-as-fuck post-rock stuff. Just one take.

There's a band called VyPole, I semi stumbled on some of their chords, so thought it only fair to promote them:

He's looking for the software to be improved so he won't return it this time. Maybe 4.0 and he might buy?
Well by 1.4 it should be pretty full featured , I am curious to see the Freq of updates obviously not going to be Fractal , but out of the gate it’s impressive with 1.2 slated for December and 1.3 slated for right after Namm that’s a lot of content in a short window

Tell me more about this. I am hoping for new reverbs and delays at some point.

They hired a gent named Norm who I think designed algorithmic reverbs for Lexicon and/or Digitech. I believe he's responsible for the "Dynamic" reverbs, and he's likely cooking on new stuff too.

Maybe they'll give it lip service at NAMM when they talk about 1.3? I have zero insider info on that, to be clear.

Here's a clean ambient-ish thing, using US Super Vib, Adriatic Delay in stereo, and Dynamic Hall in stereo:

I'm going to be honest, and kinda forthright.... I don't really like the Helix reverbs. Like, at all. There isn't a single one in there that gives me the horn. I'm definitely going to need to add verbs in the loops.

Adriatic Delay is as beautiful as ever.
Wow... you guys are picky (seriously what is wrong with the Helix tuner? LOL) . I hated the legacy verbs with a passion. But I like the Dynamics verbs just fine. 99% of the time its the dynamic plate on my patches. I dont like spring reverb of any kind at all and shimmer is overdone. I just need good sounding bread and butter plate, room and hall and I think the helix delivers as well as any of the other pedals out there. YMMV

This one is not really the sort of thing I would normally do. A bit too metal for my tastes. But I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

Hmmm. I'm not a fan of the Dynamic verbs. They have weird "motion" to them that you can't dial out and it just sounds...lumpy.

“P35” and “P37.” :)

Fun fact: P34 is POD Go, P36 is HX Stomp XL, and P38 is POD Express. That’s how long Stadium XL’s been an official project.
