Happy Saturday everybody,

We want to thank all of you for the reports of bugs/unexpected behavior. You guys absolutely rule. We want you to know that we are literally recording every single thing you are posting and meeting daily to sift through them. There are several types of reports we are seeing:
    • Straight up bugs which are going on a fix list and will be addressed soon or are already addressed in 1.2.
    • Simple misunderstandings of how the unit should act. Stadium is a very complex product and acts differently than the OG Helix in some cases which can cause some confusion.
    • Hardware issues. There are actually very few of those but where we do have them, you have my personal word we will take immediate care of you.
While these bugs can be described slightly differently, the list below represents many of the bugs you have reported condensed and categorized. If you hit something where Stadium is not acting as you expect, please look here to see if we already have it. If not, please log a ticket. If you are experiencing an issue with a particular preset, it is hugely helpful to us if you can include your snapshot/setlist in the ticket. Videos are also incredibly helpful to the team.

Here is a list of what we have right now though it is changing daily as we get them reported/fixed. Just as an FYI, often one fix will actually cover several different behaviors:
  • We have addressed some issues that could prevent logging in to the Helix Stadium application.
  • Parameters edited from Focus View not being tracked by Snapshots
  • Touchscreen rebooting when changing snapshots in some presets imported from Helix
  • Tap tempo display inconsistency between touchscreen and scribble strips in some situations
  • General fixes around footswitch assignments and Command Center, including looper assignments and custom colors
  • General Performance improvements and UI clean-up
  • Cannot manually assign/reassign loopers
  • Low output compared to Helix
  • Drastic gain changes between Snapshots can create volume dips and/or surges. Improvements are in progress.
  • By default, the 1/4" and XLR global setting is visually set to Line but actually is outputting Instrument/Mic level. Change the global setting away and back to Line to get proper Line level output. This issue will occur again if you factory reset and require this to be toggled again. This will be fixed in the next firmware release.
  • Occasionally presets may load at a lower output level than expected. This is known and we are working on a fix.
  • Local internet strength and turning on MFA in your Line 6 account could be responsible for some disconnects.
  • Snapshots not working as expected: If this happens, please open a support ticket and provide the presets and/or setlists involved, along with your firmware version.
We will continue to update this as needed and as always, if you just have a question, ask the amazing folks here or just log a ticket and our guys will respond as quickly as possible. I'm going to ask Chad to pin this to the top for now.

You all rock and the music you are already creating is more inspiring to us than you know. While I am the guy posting this, I am doing it on behalf of our entire team. And on behalf of our entire team: THANK YOU!

First gig last night! It went really well, though there were a few issues.

Several times, the unit randomly switched from the setlist I was using into User Presets. I'd talked with @Digital Igloo about this happening after saving a preset, and he says that has been fixed for 1.2, but this wasn't happening after a save, just randomly. In the heat of the gig, I couldn't figure out if there was a common trigger, but I'll see if I can replicate it at home.

I was running stereo, and, despite both channels having the same settings, the left channel was appreciably lower than the right. I think someone mentioned that happening to them, but I don't feel like digging through the threads. Has anyone found a fix for that?

Having to change modes to get access to the preset up and down switches is a bit of a pain. DI says there's a better option coming, but I wish they'd get eight-stomp mode until that better option got here, and I hope it gets here soon. I use stomp mode exclusively, and there were several times I realized I hadn't switched back to it after changing presets, and I had to tap dance real quick to get back into stomp mode in time to switch to lead (or page down in a chord chart).

Aside from that, any issues were pretty much user error. I had a few presets that just weren't dialed in quite hot enough or EQ'd quite right. I need to do some tweaking at gig volume and during rehearsals, obviously.

But it sounded great, and the UI absolutely shined. For whatever reason, we veered from the setlist a LOT last night, and being able to search for a preset by title is an absolute game-changer for those situations. The only thing that would make it better is if I could mirror the touchscreen to my iPad (the one with all the fingerprints) so I wouldn't have to stoop over for that.

Overall, I was very pleased. The verdict is still out on the backpack. Getting it in and out is not easy, and it seems like there will be wear and tear both on the backpack and the Stadium over time. I may keep an eye out for alternatives.

Thank you for the detailed write-up!

When i import an IR it sounds a little fuzzy. Not real bad but noticeably different from loading the same IR in a DAW after the Stadium. The same basic EQ is there but something is off. I plan to do a reamp with loading the same IR in Stadium vs Native.

I know IR loaders can sound slightly different but what I am hearing is making IRs seem to sound more alike.
What length is the IR you’re trying to import?

I’m seriously enjoying playing Agoura. I just came back to a 2203 patch I created yesterday and was equally inspired today. Didn’t touch a knob, just fired it up and riffed for an hour. With Hx I always felt like I was tweaking…not even chasing something great, but something that seemed natural? Agoura just feels and sounds like a great amp to me. I’m sure this is the closest I’ve ever felt to playing a tube amp in a digital device.

Don’t sleep on playing with the master volume on these amps. I didn’t find that useful in Hx but in Agoura I’m feeling like it’s changing how the amp and cab interact. Big sustaining power chords feel VERY weighty on some of these amps. Absolute joy to play.

This also happened to me the last few gigs. It might have been when I was moving up and down presets but I wouldn’t expect it to move out of the setlist you have selected.

Glad to see it’s being sorted in the next update. 👍

I saw positive mention of the horizon gate earlier in the thread. I tried it yesterday and got a massive drop on the input signal feeding into the rest of the chain. I played with the controls but the only thing that made it *not* drop the input signal was turning it off…. I guess I’m doing something wrong but don’t know what?

I’m liking the default gate that is switchable in the input but thought I’d try this instead as others had commented positively
I love the Horizon Gate. I set the sensitivity very low… I think 0.8. I notice no signal loss.

Absolutely loving my Gator Titan Series case for the Stadium XL. I haven't been a fan of hard cases in the past, preferring a bag, but I feel like this case gives the unit the protection it deserves.

What are the settings? I don’t think I ever had the gate over 2 even for really high gain riffing.

If I just turn it on and play, the level of the guitar drops hugely so it completely changes the sound of the whole preset.

I suppose I’d better do a video to show what I’m talking about. Cat on lap at the moment and he sticks around for hours so will do it when I can :)

Are you placing the gate at the beginning of the chain?

Post the preset here. I’ll check it out on an hour or so when I get home from work.

Also, cats rule.
