Line 6 Helix Stadium Talk

I have my Stadium and FM3 setup with a ABY switch so I can instantly switch between them. I have plexi patches using the same IR on both units and got them sounding pretty similar. But I’m noticing the FM3 is more sensitive to the fine nuances of my playing, making it a little more dynamic and lively feeling. It’s probably not something I would be able to notice without the instantaneous ABY switching and I haven’t had time yet to try with other amp models. But wondering if others tried something similar and what results they found?

I’ve only had it about two days so it’s too early to make any conclusions, but it is something I did notice with the one model I tried.

Am totally out of my knowledge zone here ..... but are these good / fast / state of the art sort of chips / processors -or- are they 1. 2 or more generations old (?)
Yes, both the Analog Devices DSP and the NXP i.MX SoC are the latest available in mass production parts available now.

NXP will ramp up production of the i.MX 95 next year which should be the latest state of the art from them, but until then - yeah pretty much one of NXP's high performance SoCs.

he clearly doesn't play guitar at all.
That dude is an idiot!!! I now have both Fractal Axe FX III MkII Turbo, FM9, and just got Stadium XL by Line 6. I don't find any of them to be difficult to dial up tones/complex presets on any of the 3 devices! All 3 are keepers for me. I had a Helix Floor for many years before getting the Axe III based devices.

Kudos to both Line 6 and Fractal for both making me happy playing guitar. I still have tube amps including a Hughes & Kettner Triamp Mark 3!!!

That's way too pragmatic.

Speaking of light , if you look between encoders 5 and 6
The is a sensor for light
DI confirmed this and said it not currently active
Any thoughts to it’s purpose ?

I’d like to know which is which, so I can proclaim which modeler is objectively the best evar, and diminish the other product greatly.
These passive listening comparisons are fun but unless you yourself are playing the units side by side then it’s not going to give you any meaningful info.

They both sounded good and very similar so for me that would bring down to how it reacts under my fingers which I can’t tell with clips.

TL;DR

  • Dual core SHARC+ DSP @1GHz - ADSP-21593KBPZ10
  • NXP i.MX 8M Plus Quad SoC (System-on-Chip)
    • 4 Arm Cortex-A53 - up to 1.6GHz
    • 1 ARM Cortex M7 - up to 800Mhz
    • Vivante GC7000UL GPU
    • Cadence Tensilica HiFi 4 DSP @800MHz
    • NPU (ML accelerator) up to 2.3 TOPS
    • Gigabit Ethernet - I guess this supports Nexus port
  • 16GB of flash storage
  • 4GB of RAM for NXP i.MX 8M Plus + 512MB RAM for Dual core SHARC+ DSP

Hopefully, it will boost the brightness when in direct sunlight — but I think DI said it was not currently in use.

I've been meaning to ask if the thingy (technical term) at the end of the power cord that came with the unit is anything special? Noise filter or something?

Someone help me - I just got my unit. It's gorgeous.

However, after connecting to the internet, here's what I'm seeing -

There is no QR code (the section is blank) and the provided code is invalid. Is this a return unit or something? One of the cheat sheets had a large scratch on it.

I ran into this. Go back a step and connect to the network again. After I did that it pickup up a QR code.

How do you toggle snapshots in command center? From the couple of videos I watched; you are able to set it up to jump back to the previous snapshot by pressing the button again. I set up a stomp row and assigned snapshots to that row. I want to be able to toggle back to the last snapshot by pressing the button again but I can't seem to get it to work that way

@JiveTurkey , my long time friend, I apologize in advance. But is this what you need? I cued it up to the snapshot toggling feature.
