Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

@Digital Igloo

If I ever get a band together for some limited Sloganyear shows where we play the more rock-meets-electronica stuff, I'm really interested to see how much Showcase can take on what I want to do.

If you want a sneak peak; certainly I've posted these before:

I used a lot of Helix Native in these. But as you can hear, there's a shit ton of synth stuff going on. Not stuff I could or would want to really focus on live, as I'd focus on vocals. So this would be stuff that originally I was going to trigger in Ableton Live. But here's my dream:

- Load up the stems onto Helix Stadium. Chuck them into Showcase. One of the stems is a click.
- Click comes out to the drummer, along with a sub-mix of whatever other tracks he wants.
- I get a dedicated mix too, into some IEM's or a little stage monitor. I'd be playing a minimal amount of guitar for this stuff I think.
- Guitarist and bassist shouldn't in theory need a click, but the option seems to be there.
- Synths and backing vocals come out of a dedicated stereo output, straight into the PA.
- Showcase controls which snapshot gets triggered for the guitars. Stadium processes 2 guitars at once.
- Showcase plays the set in the order I decide, triggering various visuals in Resoluum Avenue via midi notes.
- Jury is out on whether I'd want to use Stadium for vocal processing.

DI did say that we wouldn't have to wait until Proxy ("early 2026") to get Agoura Mesa sounds, so a Recto and/or Mark (or Badlander?!?) is clearly at the top of the list.

Reaaaaaaaaaaally hoping that's going to happen with 1.2/Showcase.

That’s cool. I def fall in the camp of let’s get a DR, Mark and JVM before a Revv, but I’ve got to imagine they know those need to be in the queue sooner rather than later.

Yeah, I'm surprised the REVV made it in before any Boogies as well, but if I'm being honest....I dial my Recto sounds (usually goosed with the Precision Drive with the "Attack" knob up a good bit) in a way that's in the vicinity of where the REVV Red channel starts by default.

Just like I love playing with different modded Marshall variants, but when I listen to my Placater, Ecstasy, EV Panama Blue and Soldano patches back to back.....I dial each of them toward a single type of tone too.

That is probably my most important takeaway from yesterday. To be honest, I previously considered this feature to be more of a gimmick. Nice, but not particularly important to me personally. And now I was sitting there in front of the device, moving the cursor back and forth on the touchscreen... and I instantly understood how great it actually is. Especially when I think about recordings... ‘Hey, I need a sound here that’s kind of like...’ swipe, swipe, done!

Damn, I feel so hyped today, almost like a little kid waiting for Christmas. I can hardly wait for the day when I can finally order a Helix Stadium (non-XL, because I want to put it on my desk).

Thanks again @Digital Igloo for being such a nice and approachable guy.
Plus, like so much of the content in Stadium, it’s an opportunity to learn a few things. Swipe to a good sound in Focus view, pay attention to what the params are doing, and voila, you know more about that amp/ effect!

I wasn’t hip to Revv until I stumbled on that Aaron Marshall preset in FAS. That goes really hard.

I’m with you on that though, we are looking for 50+ amps to do that one tone we like. :ROFLMAO:

Its game over for all the competition guys, Glenn liked the Helix Stadium a lot! In all seriousness, I had a chat with him after he tried it and he genuinely was impressed with the realism of the amp tones. I thought that was pretty cool! In his words he said "gotta give credit where credit is due".

Can't wait for you to get yours if they're not making that happen already.

You'll undoubtedly give us the high gain showcase we've been craving.

The “problem” with Jon is that he’s got the blessing/curse of everything he does sounds pretty damn awesome. They should also give it to someone who can’t dial in a tone to save their life, but somehow still have a YouTube channel. 😂
