Almost what I expected. But whenever I see other companies releasing major updates I feel kinda impressed. But I guess you know your game. ...and saw through my trickery making you release early. ;)

I think people who are buying it specifically for showcase are a very minor percentage of the total preorder peeps.

And for the one or two that are bummed they didn’t get to try out showcase within their preorder window - they can return it and then re-purchase it later when showcase comes out and try it again then.


I also agree with the above posts that showcase is so new/different and feature rich - that I think it would be a GOOD thing to be an update after the initial launch with adequate tutorials and promotion around it.

Capture the core buyers in the first round now. Then potentially grab a new set of buyers in December. Perfect for Yamaha’s EOY revenues!!

As someone who preordered the XL, my vote is to not wait on Showcase. It sounds cool, and I'll probably at least attempt to use it, but its presence (short term or long term) won't determine whether I want to keep the XL or not.
 
I’m afraid people will be pissed off either way - that’s unfortunately how things have become. But I think fewer people will be pissed off if you release as early as you can with a firmware update as soon as you can, compared to postponing the release.
 
What’s more gross, playing barefoot in my living room, or using your fingers to touch a footswitch that has been in contact with shoes that just came out of the men’s room in a dive bar?

I think this showcase will they/won't they is just a clever troll to a company that historically over promises and underdelivers
