Line 6 Helix Stadium Pre-Launch Discussion

I miscounted. It's 40.

Normally, I'd kinda sweat knowing what all of those are gonna be, but honestly....the EVH, REVV, Ecstasy, and Fender Super Reverb are pretty much all I'm using in my Helix patches anyway these days....so I think I'm good for a while. All accounted for as being Agoura-fied out of the gate!

I think I'm most anxious to try this 50th anniversary Ampeg you've been talking about as having the best rock bass sound you've heard. Doing a lot more bass with my studio project these days, so that will definitely come in handy. Hope y'all have a multi-snapshot preset or three to show that bad boy off in 1.0 firmware.

Okay, I spoke a bit too soon. An Agoura Mark IV and/or Dual Rectifier would kill, assuming that the missing switches and modes are added onto these new versions.

The Hiwatt is there Igor slipped that one in another thread
Yeah it was shown in the video too, I hope this time it has both channels (and jumperable too) instead of the brilliant channel only as in the Helix

Perhaps less so. It's a little bit more of an apples to oranges comparison than Stadium vs. QC, the QC being derivative of Helix in many ways. But if I were considering an FM9, in a world where Stadium was readily available at roughly the same price?

Obviously, the quality of amps and effects is a factor, and a subjective one at that. But features and ease of use tilt the scales pretty hard. And that's before you consider how much easier it is to buy (and if needed, return) a Line 6 product than a Fractal.
If the fm9 next version has a touchscreen it will make things interesting

I dunno. Those who focus on their own customers' problems will continue to be successful. Our Stadium patents are really meant to maybe give others pause before they rush to lift entire workflows whole hog, like some have done with our signal flow, DSP allocation, snapshots, Command Center, etc. There are SO MANY cool and unique things a multieffect could potentially do and I maintain this whole "Oh, Company X's box needs to add Company Y's feature" is a plague upon our industry. Proxy still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, even with the self-deprecating sheep icon.

Any serial-type effect (distortion, fuzz, compression, etc.) would end up with really bad latency, or if applied in parallel, phase issues. So there'll definitely need to be some explanation added to the Owner's Manual if and when we ever get around to it.
I think some potential buyers will see things like drum and light uses as well as other things overkill for their use and I am hearing a lot of 2199$????? Yikes bantor going on in the internet because many features like I said are not going to be used by some guys.

That's why there are two models to start and there will be more coming. I would bet all of the new ones will cost less than the XL.

I feel like, while Proxy amps won't be used (for playing) by as many people as those who demanded it believe, or at least not more than Agoura models, the marketplace will at least make some revenue to make its implementation worth it.
When I had my QC I used it to model my own amps and eventually didn’t care about someone else’s captures. I think this is the best use case for these products.

I think Proxy amps will help fill in until more Agora models are released and will maintain some level of popularity ongoing, but other Proxy captures could see much more usage than amp captures.
