Hang on a minute.

You’re saying that an English pub, in Florida is representative of English food? I haven’t set foot in a pub in America that was even close to what an English boozer is like, the food won’t stand a chance. The best pubs here don’t serve food at all, and the ones that do food are either terrible or they’re basically restaurants that serve booze.

By that description I was in a 100% authentic English pub, terrible or not! :rofl :rofl :rofl

Just to get this thread back on Topic

The Kemper is green. Avocados are green. You can eat Avocados. Some people like the tase of Avocados. Mic drop !!!

Fun fact- My ancestor, William Dampier, introduced the word 'avocado' to the English language, along with over 1,000 other words, including barbecue and cashew. He's also the first dude to map out Western and North Western Australia, which is why our family name is also the name of some of your towns and islands-

I updated and opened Rig Manager just for the heck of it and I don't see any metadata on profiles/rigs to identify a classic profile vs. 2.0. Did they not consider that users may want to filter for these?

you need to make your home work before talking about Kemper

Good info. In my defense, the columns are the first thing I checked for while on the rig exchange view and they aren't in the list. I didn't realize this is still in public beta and not included in the auto-update.

Yea, I am waiting for the release version for my MK1, then I'll do some testing on the relative quality of profiles designed for MK1 on MK1 and profiles designed for MK2 on MK1, and borrow an MK2 from someone local and hear for my self.

But until there is an official release, I think I'll just sit still and continue playing guitar :).

It would be hilarious if they made MK2 profiles purposely sound even more like dogsh*t on MK1 to drive sales even further. I cant reconcile people saying that the MK2 profiles sound even worse that MK1 profiles on those units, doesn’t make sense but I’ve seen that multiple times now.

2.0 are run with entirely different test signals. And while I have an MK1 and MK2 at the same time I have booted the MK1 since the 2 arrived.

I will compare soon. My understanding is the sound identical except for the low end. With the new cabinet parameters not available on the 1.

This thread: https://forum.kemper-amps.com/forum...sound-of-2-0-profiles-with-mk2-and-mk1-units/

After profiling (2.0) some of my amps I started comparing the sound between Mk1 and Mk2 units.

For studio profiles I go into my monitoring system (Neuman KH120 with KH750, measured to the room)

very important: dB matched!
Mk1 and Mk2 to right or left (switchable) and guitar switchable to Kemper.

profile Jtm45 (last one in RE from JPV)
With fresh ears I can hear a difference and feel a difference, but it’s really close. I am surprised how close they are. In dependence of Volume and Gain and longer playing it’s even closer.

Everybody should test sound wise exactly the need of a new unit! Mk1 is still really good.

Direct Amp profile I did compare with the same Power Amp into Stereo BluGuitar 2x12 Box and Kemper Kabinet. The result for me is similar.
I have heard more reports like this than reports saying there is any substantial difference between MK1 and MK2. There does seem to be agreement that there ARE audible difference. FEW seem to believe that it is "night and day".

Of course, I have never thought that Kemper sounded "bad" and have questioned the ears of those that thought it did. This is not to be confused with saying that Kemper profiling has always been "accurate".

Speaking of "accurate" has anyone seen a NULL analysis of all the contenders compared to the V2.0 Kemper profiles on MK2? Not that it matters to ME personally, but I would think that one of the primary goals of the Kemper team would be to improve accuracy.

Thanks.
