Kemper Profiler MK 2

On the Stage, it’s about the same. In any case it’s extremely under powered for realtime DSP, so I’d be surprised if it’s running the fixed effects.
I thought that would be the only way they would squeeze out more horsepower considering the main DSP is the same. The fixed effects seem fairly simple afaik?

Otherwise it's just gating features artificially. Which is not out of the question for Kemper I guess.

There’s no cpu meter on the Kemper, so we don’t know how much cpu headroom there is on the Mk1. So we don’t know what more could be squeezed out of it. We’ll never know the full story of what’s going on with the way some features are only available on the Mk2.

That's a very good demonstration video that I think will help a lot of people, but he seems to be confused about a couple of things. Not just the error message, but the definition control as well. I don't understand why he thinks a high value is better than a low value. That's just a characteristic of the amp. It's not a score that indicates how good the profile is.
I...was confused about this too. It sounds like a profile "score" where he talks about it at some points? He is like myself where it's all gain, all the time. Profiling/capturing doesn't ever like that ime. Especially in ToneX. Ugh.

The video that Ola did on the new V2 Kemper profiling sounded pretty darn good. I am still not ready to open the wallet though.

People on the Kemper forum figuring out that Resonance feature for Mk.2 devices is showing up in Rig Manager and working on Mk.1 devices.

Gaslighting their entire user base, lol.

That’s hilarious. Software bug that proves it has nothing to do with “upgraded hardware”

Kemper will "fix" that right quick.

The fact is Kemper has always had a cab resonance feature. The only thing that is new is that they exposed a couple of controls for it to the UI, so there's no reason it couldn't be available on the Mk1, even for V1 profiles. IMHO it's not really that useful. Offering a library of SIC's would be more useful.

It doesn’t matter if it’s useful. They’ve marketed the whole MK2 upgrade as the ‘old hardware’ (even though it’s the same DSP) can’t handle the new profiles and features they’ve added, with resonance being the headline one. They just forgot a bug that proved that is only software limited.

I’ve be calling out for months that there’s zero reason that with the same DSP the MK1 can’t run the new profiles and figured it would eventually blow up in their face. Just didn’t think it would be in beta stage.

I posted this pic over there but isn’t it just the same thing as an EQ setting in their Studio EQ? I don’t get it.

No, the feedback from the cabinet and speaker to the impedance at the power amp is more complex than an EQ.
