is the same with fractal why AM4 cant play FM3,FM9,Axefx 3 presets, dude you live in a cave, this is marketing

No, dude, that's completely different. The various Fractal products have different processors and different processing capabilities. It would be absurd to expect an AM4 to be able play any AxeFX III preset. On the other hand, the various Kemper products have the same processor and the same processing capability, so it would be reasonable to expect the Mk1 to be capable of doing whatever signal processing a Mk2 can do.

As I said, it's difficult to see why there would be a technical reason why the Mk1 can't play V2 profiles at full resolution. Also, as I said, it's easy to see why there would be a marketing reason for Kemper to ensure that it doesn't.

Not entirely sure this is true. How is the MKII able to utilise so many more FX slots?

Suns out, Guns out.

The error screen he's getting - see image below has *nothing* to do with any of the Amps Gain or other settings.

Its the signal being fed into the Kemper for the Profiling that is too hot - all he needs to do is turn that down until the error goes away - the *only* impact on the resulting Mk1 Legacy Profile is that it will be a less loud at default volume levels.

That's a very good demonstration video that I think will help a lot of people, but he seems to be confused about a couple of things. Not just the error message, but the definition control as well. I don't understand why he thinks a high value is better than a low value. That's just a characteristic of the amp. It's not a score that indicates how good the profile is.

I gotta say the profiling on the player is simple enough, especially compared to the other stuff I have.
I always hated the refining shit.
What seems to make the big difference is the resonance in the cab block.

Definition sounds like a tilt filter before the distortion circuit, to me. Doesn't sound like anything to do with the poweramp.

Yes it is. Open up your Mk2 and compare the DSP processor chip to your Mk1. It's the same.

Wrong question. The right question is: why doesn't the Mk1 have the extra fixed effects that are in the Mk2?
The co-processor is a good bit faster on the MK2. I assume that is what is used for the fixed effects.

But the main DSP is the same, therefore MK1 should be able to run the full MK2 captures.

I think it would be interesting to see if someone could convert a MK1 to MK2 by being able to hack the MK2 firmware onto it. Might require patching some checks somewhere so it will actually install tho.

It's not. The (upgraded) CPU board handles ancillary duties (UX, display, USB, rig management), but the DSP is the exact same.

Yeah was surprised. He seems / claims to have done a f*ck-ton of MK 1 Legacy Profiles and didn't realize that error message referred to the I/O Profiling levels and nothing to do with the Amp settings ... a bit weird.

That and also that he seemed to be wanting to do [or used to do] Profiles with a Noise Gate in the path.

Back in the day, you would get and learn about that level error message and the noise gate warning in your first one or two profiling runs ... and then never do it again.

Go figure ?

Yep ... he just spoke with such self-assured conviction .... and then went on about the above 2 issues ... and I was like .... w.t.f .... has this guy *ever* been setting up and configuring the KPA Profiling as its meant to be set up and configured.
