IT’S A FIGURE OF SPEECH ALBERT

Yep, after letting out a string of curses and insults, telling The Colonel he should be guiding morality here and ended with some shit about a more “cerebral discussion” I guess he went to go find that cerebral discussion. Or his drummer finally got sick of playing a fucking e-kit and beat him with it.
The guy is a fucking dildo. Cerebral discussion my arse. The guy doesn't even have a fucking cerebellum.

Since he’s still in the search bar he’s likely been stealth banned.

aka lacks permission to post.

Sorry GZ, no stealth banning or any kind of banning.

It’s possible a mod Discouraged him without mentioning it, but that’s not how we generally do it and we kinda treated him as a ‘let him hang himself’ thing.

Perhaps Pipelineaudio was an exception.

Anyways the theory was “a likely”.

Either way it’s of little significance except for someone mentioning his absence.

OneEng is a long time Kemper forum member. I found him to be respectful and charitable on that forum during the time I was on. I really don't know what on earth happened here, but Jesus.

Currently OneEng has a thread on Kemper forum about whether Kemper has aliasing, where he seems to argue it does not (not sure if he means audible or not) so I don't think he was convinced by people's arguments on TGF. I personally doubt he wants to participate here as that thread seems partly related to this one.

Saying this, I wonder whether the Kemper thread leads to CK caring more about aliasing (which clearly you are sensitive to). But it doesn't seem like many people have substantial issues with the aliasing levels of Kemper, so most likely they won't improve things on that end.

And maybe with the lack of processing power, they cannot anyway do that.

The variance of opinions on whether things matter or not, are audible or not or even worth measuring is pretty broad.

So all of that makes sense to me.

I think the overarching point of this thread was that a lot of people thought the concept of the Kemper was/is cool, but were, for whatever personal reason, dissatisfied with the quality of the profiles, UI, misc. features, etc. Therefore, with a "MkII", we were hoping they'd get with the ToneX/NAM/Quad Cortex program, and have A. a much better capture quality, possibly using ML, and B. have a lot better of a UI. They seem to have failed on both counts, at least as it applies to internal to the device.

When you get some asshat like OneEng:

1. looking down on people for their social/financial status
2. questioning where/when/what someone got their degree in

I officially think they're an arrogant, pompous piece of shit. Plain and simple.

The issue with Kemper MKII was simply that they had fallen behind in a number of areas, and then MKII finally comes and it offers nothing more than virtually identical hardware and some vague promises of a future update. They would have been better off doing nothing for another year or two, until they could develop SOMETHING to make it an actual update and not a paint refresh.

Sad to say I agree - I hope they’re able to pull something impressive out of the bag as, even if you’re not a fan, competition in the sector is good for everyone in the end.

They’ve had a past history of going dark / being terrible communicators and then coming out with something that has been a worthwhile free update. What they’ve delivered has always been better than expected IMO. I’m hopeful that the new profiling they bring out will also be better than expected - although I’m jumping ship (I’m tempted by useful features elsewhere), I wish them well and hope they over-deliver…. I think a lot of loyal users are expecting that. If they don’t blow everyone away in terms of what’s possible with capture tech then there isn’t much else to get excited about on there. There’s quite a few folks who have already upgraded from a Mk1 to a Mk2 so I hope for their sakes it’s awesome….. waiting in the dark for an impressive free update is one thing but waiting in the dark nervously after paying for new (seemingly vintage) hardware is not ideal. Although I’ve been a fan for years, the night and day communications / marketing campaign difference between their vow of silence when asked direct questions and line 6 is astonishing. I’m know that’s their style but I wish it wasn’t.
