The Kone is better than the Powercab. But still not worth the squeeze overall.
I think the Kone is where it's at. Idk if I'd expect too many more additions to it?I don't know so much about the Kone. I've wanted an ""FRFR"" that feels "like a cab". Considering their stated improvements to cabinet impulses, I wonder if this can mean eventual improvements to so-called "imprints" as well.
I know some have had success putting the Kone speaker in a "real cab" housing. But at that point, why not just use the real cab?The Kone is better than the Powercab. But still not worth the squeeze overall.
The Kone is best with imprints. If you're doing that, use the F12x speaker. I gave up on those a long while back. Kinda like the KemperI know some have had success putting the Kone speaker in a "real cab" housing. But at that point, why not just use the real cab?
I’m digging the FR212/EVH Hypersonic quite a bit. Fun speakers.I don't know so much about the Kone. I've wanted an ""FRFR"" that feels "like a cab". Considering their stated improvements to cabinet impulses, I wonder if this can mean eventual improvements to so-called "imprints" as well.

Definitely, but it will move air like a guitar cab without ruining your DI tone. The FR12 tilted back can absolutely hang with a banging drummer and bassist. I haven’t turned the 212 past 6 yet other than for fun.This. Get a FR-10/12, run a 1x12" IR through and it will absolutely fool you into believing you're listening to a guitar cab.
Problem is, it will never fool you into believing you're listening to a 4x12" stack.
Its as good as you are going to get as far avoiding a real cab and sticking with IRs goes.This. Get a FR-10/12, run a 1x12" IR through and it will absolutely fool you into believing you're listening to a guitar cab.

Agreed. The only thing that sounds like a 4x12 stack is .... a 4x12 stack.This. Get a FR-10/12, run a 1x12" IR through and it will absolutely fool you into believing you're listening to a guitar cab.

I'd love to try one of those Laneys as well.Yeah I stopped worrying about the forbidden in the room topic as soon as I played the Laneys. Fenders are the same way (would love to compare them next to each other).
FFS nobody besides the people skewing the conversation even mentioned their preference or use case, lol.No amount of deflection or martyrdom or insults is going to change the fact that people are projecting their requirements on others and getting pissed off that other people have different requirements and preferences.
I had one and it was quite good! I think I preferred the CLR though.I'd love to try one of those Laneys as well.
Did you feel it (gulp) "accurately" reflected the tone you dialed in? The FR12 is VERY solid in that regard (studio monitors to FR12 to wedges to the PA).I had one and it was quite good! I think I preferred the CLR though.
