• Multiple "profiles" (not kemper profiles) per preset ala Fractal.
• A/B comparisons of a preset
• Versions of a preset for different guitars
• Volume leveling support
• An alternative way to have two presets on a single footswitch

None of that exactly qualifies as "morphing" in my book.

The Pitch Follower has been my most recent new favorite as I don't even need to be near the pedalboard to switch/morph the effects on, once I hit around the E5 mark the pitch, trem, delay and reverb kick on. Since the AxeFX/FM9 can run two amps, its just a couple clicks to reverse the parameter range so one amp is turning down while the other is turning up.

+1 for the Pitch Follower. If set right, I could play a whole set in a metal context and never have to touch a pedal. Delay, Reverb, and more gain for leads, dry and heavy for rhythm, all controlled by my playing.

where Fractal you have to dive into deep edit pages to assign per preset switching and overrides and all that.

Huh? You don’t have to deep dive anything, just right click whatever you want to attach a controller/pedal to and you’re done. I’ve never once seen the Per-Preset functions, have never assigned switching overrides and all that, so that’s definitely not a requirement unless your particular needs require it.

I’ll post a video tonight of how long it takes to set up a basic amp morphing preset. I’ve never done it before, but I’m fairly confident it can be done without any of that. Hell, I’ll be really crazy and throw a delay on one of the amps but not the other, without even using a different scene.

Well they don't need the values to be ramped/interpolated in order to have value.

More accurately, they are useful features that morphing can be used to support. They are interesting uses of changing settings between two values.

Considering the amount of blocks available on an AxeFX, that's unlikely to happen unless you're into some Dweezil Zappa shit.

Yes, that's basically all there is to morphing with an expression pedal. But....you've of course chosen an example, morphing between two amps, that can't be done on a Kemper . A more typical example on the Kemper is what you did between 3:40 and 3:50. Note however, that with a Kemper, you typically have a few more mouse clicks because you can't set both values in the same place like you can on the AxeFX modifier page. Instead, you have to switch to the A/B state, then set the parameter value. And that's sometimes a problem for me because I often accidentally have the wrong state selected (because you're frequently going back and forth between the states when setting the values) and I have to back up and curse a bit before it's set the way I want.

I do this every day on both the AxeFX and Kemper and I don't find one to be noticeably easier than the other.

I genuinely appreciate the small tweaks, bug fixes, and new effects, but for me, Kabinets, Kones, and Liquid Profiles were dead ends. I'd be really interested in a survey of how many users actually embraced those things.

Well, Kabinets, Kones and LPs are definitely being used. The combination of Kone and Imprints (simulations that make the Kone sound like a V30, Greenback, Creamback, ... that can be defined by preset) is just great. The Kemper Kabinet really feels like a guitar cab, much more so than any "FRFR" Cab I have tried so far. To me it's a big advantage over other systems. And I know people use it. But it of course can only be experienced with the gear in reach. As Kabinets are only sold direct, there are no dealerships where you can try them.

And LPs - yes I LOVE them. Especially in the commercial profiles from Mattfig. They enable you to tweak gain and EQ in way more range and it might not be 100% the accuracy like in an accurate model, but it is different than in a normal profile and - IMO - better.

Isn’t it just a “more accurate” eq and gain tonestack after the capture? STL tonehub captures offer that for their captures as well

If you look up any definition of "morphing", it's always considered a gradual change/blend. What you've described could all be done with switches.

Now do the same on the unit. Or just edit some of the extremes on the unit.
And fwiw, this can be done with pretty much any modeler.

On another unrelated note: You can instantly tell what great sounding units those FAS things are, even with camera audio.

It is. But you don't seem to be able to see the differences. Not wondering much, though, you don't even manage to type a single user's name properly.

As far as I was aware it’s just giving the profile some nicer post capture lateral movement but it has nothing to do with the capture at all. If you captured an amp with the treble on 9 then traditionally you’ve just got a generic eq stack at noon so cranking the treble will be weird. When you use these liquid profiling type technologies you’re just manually inputting “the capture has treble at 9 and it was this type of amp”. Based on that info it can approximate some better eq stacks for the user.

Conceptually a nice bolt on to captures but this can theoretically be added to anything.

STL Tonehub traces, ill take a guess is pretty much NAM under the hood with this added liquid profiling tech bolted on as well.
