Kemper Profiler MK 2

I said so already, I know the examples. But there's zero proof for "all Kemper profiles sound like a cocked wah". Buzzword nonsense.
I played thousands of profiles, these are the proof.

Understand that at first I really wanted to love to kemper.
But it was all deception.
First time I played on it, I was excited to turn on the stage, I said to myself « haaaa I can finally have those great tones ».
Results : disappointed since the first chord.

Wait…

I know… you all already know I’m a bit “after” when it comes to to language barriers…

But… i thought the “Wah” thing was pronounced “cooked wah” as if it’s a wah sound that’s cooking.

Now yall are throwing around “cocked wah”

I mean… is the wah cock’ed? Like it’s a dick? Is the wah behaving like a dick, and therefore is “cocked”. Or is it being slapped by a dick…

Ahh! So there is a word and has a meaning!

Cool. You learn something each day!

Still sounds like dicked… it’s a dick word. How did they come up with that?!?

Imagine a duel

The polite dude
“I am going to pull back the hammer on my revolver right about now, sir”

The other dude
“Ima cock ma iron mate”

Polite dude dies… I guess.

Spent a good chunk of today trying to dial in the Fractal to get the midrange presence of the Kemper with a Michael Britt profile. What ended up getting me very close was using one of his IRs and then it was almost there. Similarly replacing the cab in a Michael Britt profile with the Leon Todd TV Mix got me really close to Fractal with the same IR.

Not saying it’s just the cab but that’s probably most of it.

You'll need more aliasing for that Kemper mid range presence I'm afraid.

:rofl

I love a Plexi, clean to crunch is my favorite ‘amp’ and have found quite a few profiles that fill the need and have created quite a few presets on FM3 that are just as good. Either device can disappoint as well.

I’m still going to buy a real one because real amps are more rewarding and don’t require all the extra time that digital does. Some of that extra is not really required so much as I can’t leave well enough alone sometimes so I go down rabbit holes.
But honestly, real amps is the way. Digital when you have to but real is realer.

Thanks again !

I have question I truly don't understand.

I know that for example, Fractal and Helix have very good "low aliasing" but from my reading and seeing some examples, NN / ML formats like Tonex and NAM suffer from [relatively] much higher oversampling.

Is there a specific reason for this ?

Cant oversampling or some other "process" be used to reduce the aliasing in these NN / ML formats ?
