Kemper Profiler MK 2

I don't really know why, but I've never wanted anything from Kemper. It's kind of strange, as I tend to at least want to give most of Kemper's competitors' products a test run.

I was never much into the whole profiling/capturing craze, but any desire to own Kemper gear i had died with the tiered upgrades nonsese from last year.

I bloody well suggested efx-chains for the KPA about 4 years ago to overcome the 4 Pre and 4 Post but was sh*t on by the mods :(

BTW I think the pic in the OP is not of the real thing assuming there is a "new" KPA.

If they have drastically expanded the number of built-in Amp Channels for Liquid Profiling**, fix the IR quality and maybe even further enhanced the profiling process, this could get very interesting - this current product, like it or not, is the industry standard for '000's of semi-pro-pro touring bands.

** see here => https://youtu.be/e81XmFYw_N4?t=1348 - in short once Leo changes the controls on the Soldano and then changes the matching controls on the Soldano LP, the KPA Null Test results get better significantly and the QC results get worse significantly

Whatever this turns out to be, we know from how C.K works and hsitory that

=> the KPA has never had or been designed to have all the bells and whistles - it doesn't need to have them as its not a component modeler
=> C.K knows exactly what is out there and what stuff can and cant do and he's not a fool.
=> C.K / KPA will do what they always do - they will do what they will do and do it they way they think is best - take it or leave it
=> if they are doing a KPA 2 after all this time, its not going to be a small / minor hardware / platform tweak.

Given the amount of leaks, this is probably only days or a week or so away.

Can you give me the spark notes of what the point of an efx chain would be?

What I suggested to them - and which they promptly sh*t upon was as follows for example:-

=> pick any of the 4 pre or 4 post slots - say pre slot 2
=> in pre slot 2 you could then load x no. of effects in series ie: comp + drive + eq + mod and then scroll through them on the screen to set up each one as you want
=> then have a Midi CC assigned to each efx so you can turn any of them on/off at will.
=> even if they had added only 2 x Series EFX per slot, that would have given 8 x pre and 8 x post .. 16 in total .. more than %99.99 of players could even need

Maybe they sh*t on it because the unit didn't have the juice to do it ?
