Kemper Profiler MK 2

The clip is posted to give others perspective and hopefully be a nice base to judge the improvements of the new profiling.
The clip has nothing to do with the new profiling. Nobody has heard it, and nobody will for ages yet. So why would you even say that??

You can't help yourself can you.
What? Applying logic? No ma'am, I'm afraid not.

Ahhh ok, nice. What did you use?
If clip 1 was the real amp, I'd say a few of these

The low end in the 2nd clip sounds more like what I'd expect from a mic in front of a cab and the upper mids are more 'open' sounding in the 2nd clip. The non-palm muted chords have more "Ahhhh" than 'eeee" is the best way I can explain it.
I like the logic. As I appreciate the genuine thoughts.

This is exactly the purpose. You guys shit on stuff. It's what you do. So, as long as the casual browser knows this all is well. Carry on.
That is not logical.

Lots of us have been giving genuine thoughts. You just don't like them, so you want to stealth imply that they're not genuine. But you can't bumrush the gush gush with yer tush tush. Ok mush??

Bro, I play a fucking BOSS GT-1000. I don’t give a shit about authentic anything or any of that nonsense. The conversation keeps trying to pivot on some point nobody made because the made point prior was “Kemper doesn’t sound the samest of modern profilers”. That’s it. Then like 20 pages of people quoting that with a list of shit that doesn’t have anything to do with that.

If going with Mesa branded blue, green or gray should be good. Red or yellow are too cold. For the clip posted I was trying some 2003 Tung Sol 6l6gc. That's the thing with these fixed bias amps, the power tubes make a huge difference.

My favorite in the amp are Mesa STR454. Which are Winged Cs. Such a great tube.

It's interesting that there are these claims of the Mk1 and Mk2 sound different, even with the same capture tech.

An analogy...

I bought an Elektron Digitakt MK2, and sold my MK1 almost straight after. But using the MK2, my old projects just didn't quite sound the same... not enough grit... the dirt and mush was missing.

I went and brought another MK1, and compared them side-by-side. Extremely clear differences. When I brought it up on Elektronauts, a few of the guys over there just told me to add more compression and enjoy my new unit.

So ultimately, there are two schools of thought:

1. The school of thought that says, fuck it... who gives a shit, just use the thing and enjoy it, or move it on if you don't.
2. Then the more scientifically and reasoned perspective... Yeahhh.. but WHY does it sound different? I gotta analyse this to death and figure it out.

Basically, Galileo versus whatever pope we have this year.

If the Mk2 makes a Mk1 profile sound different, that's a bad thing. He must be making a mistake in his test.

The more I think about it, the more I want to call BS on his test. Many many people have both a Player, which is Mk2, and a Mk1, but I've never heard of any of those people saying the Player sounds different than their Mk1. Kemper's Player product page even says they sound identical. The only other possibility is he's hearing a difference due to different analog components, but that should be a very small difference compared to what he's showing.
