Just finishing Sopranos

I’ve visited Antietam in Sharpsburg MD.
Absolutely beautiful area in my opinion.
Rural and mountainous is appealing to me .
Ahh, I grew up about 6 miles from there! It is a beautiful area, other than the somber feeling you get at the battlefield, knowing how many died.

I LOVE it out there! VA too!

Eastern shore of MD is similar, but without any elevation changes. Which to me, living here for so many years, makes it boring.

Many states on the east coast have totally different vibes and such, depending on which part you're in. Actually, that's probably true for most states.

Someone was going on about AZ deserts, and I instantly thought of Flagstaff, which has 4 seasons.

MD has Baltimore, and the eastern shore where I live is completely different than any of that type of environment. And then you have western MD which is rural and mountainous.
Here in California everyone sounds like Jeff Spicoli :rofl
Not really, just us dudes who grew up in the 80's

This is rural and mountainous! 30 mins drive for me to be at these trail heads where we ride from 6k elev to 9,000' then back down the terrain you see here :guiness
I do love historical sites and would very much enjoy visiting the eastern civil and revolutionary war sites though!

My old bones are exhausted just watching this lol.
That’s awesome!!!

Ok so here's another aspect to the show and it's characters. I think we generally root for Ton and the boys in his crew but the part of the last season where he interferes with the son trying to sell his father's waste management company for the mom.

Tony comes off as a parasite and a really horrible person.

He is!

Ok, more questions, i thought Vito was shot in the train room, but he was beat by the other crew. Who was shot in the train room and why?

On the last episode, 1/2 way through. Everyone is getting shot!!!

I know how it ends, but here is a question............ Should they have 'clipped' T too?

How random I just smashed this for the first time around about a month ago. Somehow it completely slipped under the radar for me... I guess being on around 2000 and in Australia it might not have had the fanfare it had over in the US... Obviously I'd heard about it but didnt give it the credit it deserved (I think I'll give it a rewatch in a couple years).

Some of the stories and angles were super weird and some of them hit 10/10 I guess its inevitable. I ended up watching a bunch of interviews with the cast and directors, such a crazy ecosystem... definitely a gem of a series.

Ending is brutal in its own way... I was annoyed for about 7 seconds before I remembered their talks in the boat and some other stuff eluding to death. Obviously googled and everyone else pointed this out. I definitely would have been more divided about the ending if I'd watched it week to week over 6 years... but after a binge over a couple weeks it was great (frightening haha).

I went straight onto Boardwalk Empire for the first time and smashed it as well. Not as good as Sopranos, seemed to drag a bit in many parts. Again after I finished the show I googled a bunch of stuff and didnt realise how close a bunch of the characters were (obviously al capone, luciano and some others). If anyones got other TV recs in this arena I'll chuck it onto my mental list. I need a break in the meantime... Seinfeld and Curb will be on in the background for a few weeks for the 85th rerun here.

As someone who grew up and lives in NJ and has family directly connected to the real mob in that same area, I've never watched the full series. :idk
I guess I saw enough of it for real to not be impressed.

I did Sopranos, Boardwalk, and then The Wire. I too needed a break and am on Curb currently.

i generally agree but maybe this is how hollywood wants us to think?? surely during the course of the mob someone made a ton of money and got away with it right?? its good for movies and tv to have that story line arc but i mean over time all over the world i am sure there are lots of examples where they got away with it... i dont think the cops are batting 100% is all im wondering....
Michael Franses(last name might be spelled wrong) was making several million dollars a week on his gas tax scheme that he came up with. He did some time in prison for it but he's got a very successful YouTube channel now and supposedly has changed his ways after getting out of the mob. But there is no way you can convince me that he doesn't have millions of dollars stashed away somewhere. You don't make millions of dollars a week for several years and not have a nice nest egg somewhere. Several years ago about my wife the box set for The sopranos and we watch it every few years. She even has a sopranos cookbook. Oh Mafia thing has definitely been a source for incredible and interesting movies and TV series.

Agreed. Plus, someone as smart as he is, I gotta believe would've thought ahead to a time when he'd end up in prison, get out, and want to go legit, and for that reason, he'd have stashed money away well ahead of time.
