Per everywhere and confirmed by Josh on socials, but here's a Rolling Stone link:

I'm really surprised. Freese was a perfect fit for the Foos. A total pro who can play his ass off but knows exactly how to fit in to a band. He was the most obvious pick for the gig to me and if anything I was amazed he accepted the role in the first place because he's so high demand.

Only thing I can think is that Josh wanted too much money (maybe as a real member of the band and not a hired gun) or he couldn't be 100% exclusive.

I assume they'll roll out with someone closer to Dave on a personal level or it'll be Taylor's kid, who seemed perfectly capable of handling the gig at the tribute shows.

I wonder if it could be a thing of Josh just being on the road all the time and probably not wanting to dedicate all his time to Foo. He's out right now with A Perfect Circle and if Dave wants to start writing some tunes and has to wait for a tour to finish to do so, it might be better to cut the cord before more concessions are made.

They're probably going to hire Wolfgang.

I wouldn't be surprised, but I also don't think I'd be bummed.

Dave, I'm sorry.gif
