Is this guitar tone what I think it is?

I am in love with the ‘80s pop direct-to-console guitar tones.

I was listening to the Footloose soundtrack yesterday and all of this sounds to me like a James Tyler guitar and a Rockman direct to the console. I’m betting no amps were involved.

Is that correct, or am I off-base on what I think I’m hearing? Anyone know anything about the gear used here?

I’m really just interested in all things ‘80s session player gear!
