Back in a past life I used to do, and plan, and go to lots of these types of functions....with much rowdier people, guaranteed.

It's the planning, and financial aspect that is the biggest issue. It won't be cheap .

If you do it right....with porta potties and all.....food water, accomodations....takes a long time...but could be lot of fun....

Just thinking outloud, but could do fundraisers (give-aways, raffles) to help
defray the upfront costs.

Our family just threw a weekend party where we hosted a big gaggle of
friends and family and with food, porta-potties ($175 a weekend) and
other amenities we spent right around a grand. Distinct possibility
that you might not even need to go that large.

In all seriousness, if it was in the late fall and winter, I could get away for a day or 2, as far as an 8 to 12 hour drive could take me.

Some of the coolest and most fun experiences I’ve had in life are the result of meeting buddies from forums in person. I didn’t waste a lot of time with that, either. I think it was ‘97 when 15 or 16 when I first met some guys from Jemsite. I got to play guitars that I could only dream of looking at back then because of that and I’m still friends with some of those guys now. Meeting all the HRI guys at NAMM, that I was only able to go to because of HRI, was a blast.

Jemsite used to do the Jemfests and they got pretty cool with Vai/Ibanez donating guitars for raffles/displays and eventually making an appearance. I think they had 10 of them? They always did them in Orlando as it made it easy for people to plan their family vacation around it, a week at disney with the fam while ya dip out for a fri-sat hang with the guitar buddies. They’d have them in hotels, which made it a bit easier to accommodate everything/everyone. I never got to go to one and that always bummed me out, but gear and weed were more important when I was a teenager.

I’d absolutely love to have a TGFest, I’d go as far as saying it’s a goal of mine for this place because of the experiences above. I enjoy traveling, but I also live 3 hours from Orlando and can set that up pretty easily!!
