I Want a Headless

How did I miss a headless thread? I actually haven't owned an electric with a headstock in like 15 years.

I have two Kleins and a Klein copy. I love them. They sound great and are easily to play. Now I just need something interesting to play.

I'd love a Kiesel Zeus, or theZ2 or whatever they call it now. They'll do a fretless too. Hmmmmm.

I’d love an O2, but I have a really tough time separating guitar from Jeff Kiesel. Dude’s a serious tool. They are nice guitars though.

I've never had any personal dealings with him, but am aware of some of the rumbling. I also know the internet loves a good target so there's that.

The call of a fretless Z2 might be too strong :).

As headstocked guitars go, I love the look of their Kira model too, especially with the 2x4 headstock. I should probably have a headstocked guitar for those 'regular gigs' I never get called for.

Yeah, the Internet does indeed love target practice. I think there are A LOT of assholes in the MI business. Some of them just wisely choose to stay off of social media. 🤣

I don't know Jeff Kiesel personally, but he did all the finish work on my Vader, and it looks spectacular.

They included it in their gallery.

This is Jeff showing the guitar prior to shipping it out to me.

None of the Kiesels have the leg cut I like. They are very light though.

I'm gonna sell my Schecter KM7, which weighs a ton, and get a headless. I just can't do heavy guitars. My Baum Wingman is only 7 pounds. This is a nice weight to me so 5 sounds nicerer.

Get a 'tidies! :grin I can't imagine anything being better.

I’m in the Navy. I’d like a guitar to keep on the ship. I don’t have a ton of room. I’ll be playing thru a Kemper Player and headphones. I was thinking about a cheap Squier but I’d like something I will be good with once I get off the ship.

I have looked at Kiesel and Strandberg.

I gravitate towards pristine cleans and heavy music.

I currently have a Music Man Cutlass, and play thru a Quad Cortex.

My budget is $0-2500.

What should be on my radar?
Yeah, Kiesel baby! They got a good selection of several headless guitars. Before I got mine I visited the Kiesel showroom in Escondildo, CA and tried out a bunch of their models. The Holdsworth HH2 had the smallest footprint, maybe a little bigger than a Steinberger, and to my ears sounded the best. It comes with a sturdy zippered gigbag. Some of the other Kiesel headless guitars were more high gain but the Holdsworth with the Holdsworth pickups had enough gain, and cleans were better than the guitars with the powerful pickups. I got mine in 2016 and prices gone up a little since then. You may be able to find a used one. They are very good quality workmanship and built too last. Some of the older ones may have the Carvin name on them, but same good quality and sound.
