I just geeked out on picks...

Looks like they’ve got a whole bunch of new signature Jazz III’s

I love the red EJs, they’re my favorite Jazz III’s picks

Yellow Dunlop Flows are it for me atm

Orange are great for more relaxed strumming, green are great for carpal tunnel riffing. Yellow seem to be juuuuuuuuuuust right.

There’s even more about to be released. The Nylon Flows are supposed to drop next month. Been waiting over a year to try those.

I don’t know why Amazon links don’t show correctly on this forum software. But just search for “Eric Johnson Custom Nylon Jazz III Pick - 6 Pack” and you should find them.

Been using these maybe 2 years? I think you will love them and they really last. I started with custom 45 but they didn't hold up like the 55's.

I have a TAD 35 which is their thinnest "regular" guitar pick. It's a little thick for acoustic strumming but I love the tone and how grippy it is.

At some point I may pick up a Jazz LG 40 which is 1.0mm - that seems to be a really good thickness for that size. But I'll try the thicker pick first.

It was the same way at TGP. I have always assumed it's something in how Xenforo processes the links? I usually copy the pic and paste it in most cases.

I went down a pick rabbit hole two years ago and have been using the Ibanez JTC picks ever since. The extra thickness has helped me relax my picking hand. I find that they make it easy to hold the pick without clenching. I didn't even realize that I had been holding so much tension in my picking hand until I tried them and realized how much more relaxed I felt.

I have had some noticeable gains in picking speed since then, but that has also been related to deliberate practice toward that end.

I’m currently reading up on this and it might be related to Amazon’s bot protection.

This might be a solution, but it looks like it’d require a plugin:

These are great! I like the orange ones for acoustic, but you're right the yellow ones are awesome for electric. They kind of snap and flex in a really cool way. I don't like the thicker ones because it feels too blocky; for thicker picks I think the pointed Jazz III style are better. But for all around playing, these are a little cleaner than standard picks and they work well for things like 10-46 gauge strings.

Sometimes I have to remember, Eddie played like 9-42 tuned down a half step with .60mm picks (at least at some points in time).

I just tried posting a link on the Fractal forum and it parsed as a link. @iaresee are you running a plugin for Amazon links?

Blue Chip IBJ55 came in. It's very similar to the JP3 pick in terms of size overall, except a proper Jazz 3 shape rather than the slightly pointier JP. It's also slightly thinner at about 1.4mm where the JP3 is 1.5mm. Bevels are a little shallower. Grip holes and material make it noticeably grippier than the JP pick. Sonically it's a little clearer/brighter likely because it's slightly thinner. But overall it's a very subtle change.

I also got in some Dava Grip Jazz picks, which are also really cool. They are pretty much the same size as the IBJ55 which is between Jazz 3 and Jazz 3 XL. They are nicely grippy as the top half is rubber but not quite as grippy as the standard Dava Grip picks. They are about 1.4mm thick but because the rubber grip is slightly flexy it feels more like .88mm. Pretty interesting pick.

Also been digging my old Dava Grip which I've had for many years now. The tip is worn and beveled at this point and it's pretty clear sounding. Very comfy to play for strumming, like the Jazz version it's got a stiff tip but the rubber makes it flexy like about .60mm. I found out Cory Wong uses that exact pick, so if you like rhythmic funk it may be worth checking out. I ordered a few more to have extras.

Yes. At some point I’ll figure out how to post pictures from my phone but I snapped a comparison size wise. The IBJ55, JP J3, and Dava Jazz are all the same size.
So how does it compare in like...., do you notice that it "glides" thru the strings any better? (Something I seem to recall being claimed.)
