I’m not saying I am going to buy an amp…

What style are you going for? Versatile, one trick (but good at said trick), wattage? Combo? Etc

I think what I’m looking for is something in the British tone camp with at least two channels. Like two channels of Plexi where I can set one at edge of breakup and the other either cleaner or more saturated.

I prefer amps 50w or under.
I love el34s and 6v6s
I hate 6l6s
I think I want a head.

Bonus points for decent sounding direct out or even a line out.

Get the combo Metro \m/

I’m really thinking about this one. I’ve only played one once and it was a while ago. Is it kinda like “Mesa does Marshall-ish tones”?

Is the DI usable?

Mark Vs are amazing deals on the used market these days.

This is another one I’ve thought about. Or even a Mark IV.

You've checked out Bad Cat before right?

Maybe also see about the Mesa Triple Crown or the Badlander as mentioned. As much as I loved my Mark IV, I wouldn't describe it as British tone

Cleans are great, crunch is great, especially with some nice pedal drive on top. Crush (other than the name) is awesome with some higher output pickups. My Marshall experience is not vast enough to give a true comparison so much as just say I love the el34 power section \m/
