ok…

I need help with setting up lead tone on my HX Stomp…. When I pay on my own it sounds good but in a band setting it gets lost… Ive pushed mids, highs, presence but still sounds like an ass….
I went on YT to see if I can eq it in a way to sound good but now after doing that it sounds worse…

I need lead tone to be bit louder than my rhythm tone and to cut through like a Turkish barbers knife through the mix….

Ill post my current settings once I get home.

Any tips hints would be appreciated:)

Are you running direct or through an amp?

What amp/cab models are you using?

with band settings I run through amp, ( Boss Katana + Marshall 4x12)
Running into the front end of the amp? Power amp in? FX return?

You have amp modeling and cab modeling active in the Stomp. First thing I would do is disable cab modeling and make sure you're running into either the FX return or the power amp input of the Katana.

Here's what I'd recommend:

Don't use a cab block in the Stomp because you are running into a real cabinet. But you'll want to add the high and low cut EQ block in the stomp because the Katana is a flat power amp and doesn't roll off any bass or treble. Start with 80 Hz low cut, but I wouldn't be surprised to go up to 100 or higher. And in the high cut, start at 10 kHz and try going up and down.

If you cut the highs and lows, that will let the midrange come through and you can bump up the volume.

Check my thread I just posted yesterday about tube vs solid state amps...I spent a few hours yesterday taking measurements of my Katana and comparing it against a tube amp. And I was running my Stomp through the Katana last night to tinker with EQ as well.

Don't mind me... taking notes.
I've yet to run my HX into any power amps for gig volumes, but am intrigued.

I forgot to mention that I dont have a cab block active when i use amp... its turned off... I only use it when i record direct from stomp. I tried both front and fx loop., front seem to work better as fx loop sounded really muffled.

Whatever you're listening on at home playing with the Stomp is going to sound vastly different compared to plugging that stomp preset into a katana and turning the cab sim off.

It's best to have a preset built for the katana the way you use it and another preset at home for the way you use it there

So someone else's backline that you can't work with beforehand?
we rent that space and they let us in 10 min before. so, yes, I cant fiddle with it beforehand... we try to plug in and go to make most of the rehearsals... not to mention equipment is desperate need of replacement. We jam time to time at bassists barn and we use our own amps and sounds much much better but to jam there its not always possible... its far to drive to start with 2 of the band members dont drive and i usually pick and drop em off... and most of the time i cant be arsed as i work 6 days a week and have other things going on and im always looking at clock....

so i want to fix that bloody stomp sound :)

Here EQ in stomp

What about amp block in the Stomp? What amp block and amp block settings are you using?

Running a Stomp amp block into a Katana amp channel is kind of like looking at a picture through two magnifying glasses - you have two different things to adjust and one might offset the other.
