How do you look for new music?

New or new to me?

YouTube Music rabbit holes, bandmates that are way older than me talking about old bands I had never head of, YT channels like Tankthetech.

Nice to know us Geezers can pay it back now and then. :beer

Truth is, there is still so much old music I have not experience in depth
that I find myself going forward and back at the same time. My latest
fascination is Old Country and Texas/Western Swing. :chef

That's the best thing about the streaming platforms imo -- digging up old music from way, way back you've never heard before.
Imagine trying to discover all of that the hard way? Would be fun but you'd lose some years. :ROFLMAO:

Totally! It's a beautiful thing so long as we don't get sidetracked by all the nonsense. Well, nonsense for me.

I am even trying to find the actual artists YT channels so that I can help them get .0000001 cents.

Outside of that we'd have to rummage sale/record shop it and try to get lucky and count on serendipity to
help lead the way---which can also be fun, if not costing a lot more time.

I can relate. Heck, believe it or not, I just recently listened to the entire DT A Dramatic Turn of Events, and there's a couple gems on there I really dig! (Along with one that's, WTF? Even for me. lol)

I'm narrow, but I do go deep. :sofa

I worked at a record store through high school and between the promotional CDs I took home daily and customer recommendations, I always had a large flow of new music to listen to.

I use Apple Music exclusively these days, and even with the stations and auto-play that Drew mentioned, it’s still not as good as it was for me back in the day.

I blame the large influx of bad music, as anyone with a computer can upload material to streaming services. And if you want to go full-Beato, popular music is just simply shit these day.

I remember when this was new to me.
Found it in a rack of 8-track tapes at a local store just after it was released.
