House cleaning

Oh lordy ALL of this right here :rofl

My wife has hired professional house cleaners a few times and she literally gave me a list of the pre-cleaning cleaning tasks she wanted me to do before they arrived. She didn’t want them to do all of the worst jobs and she didn’t want to be embarrassed by how dirty our house was. It annoyed the heck out of me that I had to pay someone to clean the house while also having to do a bunch of cleaning myself. The worst of both worlds.

I would have just been like “I’ll clean it then, let me buy a pedal or something”

We had house cleaners for about six months. It was really nice to have them do what I'd call a medium clean, but we had to do so much cleaning just to prep for the cleaners. It was a panic every other Monday morning to put everything away and get ready for them. We had a massive tax bill on top of some other expenses and had to let them go.

We're frankly a lazy messy shitty family. There's stuff piled up in every corner of the house because nobody ever cleans up after themselves. My wife will go on a cleaning kick maybe once a month max otherwise I'm stuck doing all the work.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get a bunch of slobs to take responsibility for their shit and pitch in, I'm all ears.

My girl broke her hip last month, so I have been cleaning and laundry in addition to my normal duties. This morning, I was woken with some ripping/crashing sounds and when I looked out the bedroom window, I see that the laundry lines mounted in the car port had separated from the house! Doooooh!!!!!! So much for doing laundry in "bulk" mode (I had a lot of laundry on the lines including wet towels) ;~)) So today, I get to figure out what to replace that system with. It had 5 lines that spanned about 30 feet, so you could hand a LOT of laundry there, but we only used about 60% of it as much of it's span hung over a area where I have tools/equipment. If anyone has any clothes hanging solutions they have enjoyed over the years, I am all ears. I know, most people use close dryers, we hang dry everything ;~))
