posted this in the Hotone thread but figured it deserved its own thread as this is the first demo I have actually seen of it other than showing the measurements and how it works for Leo , but this was the first actually sound demo , I thought it sounded pretty
real amp just as a bit more low end resonance to me but they were certainly in the NDSP ToneX ballpark
its still in Beta but said it will release in November . thoughts?

Nothing can be determined by that sample. Buzzy mess on the amp = buzzy mess on the Ampero! I hope more examples will be available soon.

Also, I wonder what they have in mind for sharing captures?

That will be one issue I think
With any capture platform it takes a while to build a community and getting all the usual suspects to start releasing pro packs
NDSP was like that for the first while it was a lot of crap
Until you started to see more experienced users starting to show up and an easier way to sort

If the Ampero Stage and Ampero II can do the profiling thing and use less CPU (freeing up for other items) this will be a hit. Their UI and hardware seems to be excellent (from my experience at least).

Sounds absolutely fantastic to me. I don't make any decisions off of anything that's a 'paid promotion' but the capture definitely sounds as good as the real amp there. It's definitely not a 'buzzy mess' to me either. That's an excellent tone, but my only experience using a 5153 live is I didn't like it. I mainly use Splawns and modded Marshalls and others that are similar to those, and the 5153 was so different than what I'm used to. But others sure make them sound good. Anyway, I digress . .sounded great. As JCW308 said, if the CPU can handle the capturing and captures , to me, it's just a huge bonus to an already amazing product.

Yeah. I've got to say that whilst these are not tones I would ever need or use - as heavy as I get is classic rock'ish - I turned up the clips through my monitors and that Capture was as close to the original as anything I've ever heard from Tonex or NAM.

Not surprising given that Hotone are using their own proprietary "NAM-style" A.I M.L based method.

To me, it sounds great.

I guess that capturing has 3 important factors.

1 - Quality. I think all platforms got it already. Even the oldest one (Kemper), which maybe is the least refined because its age, and maybe still has some mid-range thing going on... but even so, sounds great. I´ve got the NC, and used NAM, GuitarML and Mooer MNRS. To me, all sound great. The one that maybbe isn´t there is Headrush (based on some bad reviews I´ve seen, not personal experience).

2 - Reliability regarding input gain. Here I guess only built-in capturers got it completely right. This is Kemper, QC/NC, Headrush... and now Hotone.

3 - Captures library. Here, hands down, Kemper has the lead. NAM can have an enormous quantity of captures, but their quality is so random, and the input gain so unknown that (for me) it doesnt play in the same league. And in this regard is where Hotone will need to fight hard. Both Kemper and QC have a great high quality captures library. If Hotone manages to be on par, then they have a good chance of becoming the leader among the people who doesn´t want to spend the top dogs money (or can´t afford it).

I don't think yet another proprietary format is a good idea, especially cominf from one of the smaller companies. Mooer's capturing never took off already.
Integrate a NAM block, some tried'n'trusted best of captures and instructions how to properly do NAM captures yourself, ideally using their very own hardware.

Yep IMO These are the guys to watch

They will likely have a full capture box at Namm
Hell they could just take the Mini and add XLR and tweak it a bit and you would have a unit that would revival
ToneX and Nano Cortex probably for under 300 USD

Touch screen
Better and much larger library of FX
Blue tooth app
And Capture ( catch ) tech

If the Stage had a built-in expression pedal, I would give it another try. it would be like the Ampero Helix!

Maybe consider giving the new Ampero 2 a try , it’s pretty close
Has exp , capture tech , same screen , 4 scenes

And the button presses are hold to switch 4. To toggle. between stomp / preset model

Just misses the IOS edit I think

Regarding their capture library just like NDSP and ToneX they are going to need some big names and profile guys like
Studio Rats , Sonic Drive Studios, Micheal Nielsen etc etc and that will take time

If this IS a road that they are going to head down they should be looking into the pro sellers and trying to get they involved early IMO
