How so? It's not really parallel when there's literally nothing in parallel between send and return.
1)
Maybe that one path is “dry” and the other has effects?
This!
2)
What I was doing in each and every patch on the Floor, was having a split path containing multiple blocks that I would then control per individual footswitches (or sometimes just toggle between two). The split path's A/B selector itself however would then be controlled via snapshots (or sometimes its own switch). That way, I could, for example, preselect some different drive blocks in that split path, but regardless of what I had selected, it would always be within one step's reach (namely calling up the snapshot activating the split).
In fact, I'm still doing it exactly the same on the Stomp in some patches (just not with snapshots).
Fwiw: That's also part of the reason why I waited with my purchase until deactivating snapshot bypass was introduced. The above wouldn't have worked without that functionality.
And fwiw #2: When snapshots were introduced, I was possibly the first one to complain (without even owning a unit) about the lack of that very functionality @ TOP. Very obviously, as per usual over there, people didn't understand why I would ask for something like that - "You don't even own a unit, just believe us, nobody needs that!". Fortunately the guys at Line 6 did better.
Can I now have my royalties,
@Digital Igloo?
