Have The Women/Men In Your Life Been Aligned With Your Musical Interests?

Ahhh I am not sure where the meme originated from. I always thought it was something snagged from a rando jumbotron somewhere
Knowyourmeme says for the origin of the "Bro Explaining" meme:

On June 7th, 2011, during a baseball game between St. Louis Cardinals and Houston Astros, FOX Sports Midwest showed a camera shot of a Houston Astros fan talking to a woman in the next seat. On June 8th, 2011, sports blog JoeSportsFan.com posted the image, captioned, "and it was at that point when she realized that his Dad's oil money wasn't worth the bro tales"

Edge-of-break-up tones are the sound of a permission-seeking loser.

When my wife likes late 90's / early 2000's pop, modern country, hip hop, musical theater, and (our only shared genre) Motown. I am into classic rock, hard rock, prog, metal, jazz, folk, and Western art music. Out of respect for her lack of desire to hear what I listen to, I listen to music exclusively on headphones when she is in the house.

Given that I play the types of music that I like, she has never been a fan of listening to my guitar playing. To be fair, does anyone really enjoy listening to an electric guitar played poorly? I play through headphones when she is home. She doesn't mind driving me to / picking me up from local shows (parking is expensive and annoying), but she doesn't have any interest in seeing Symphony X or Unleash the Archers with me. I have gone with her to see several Broadway productions with her. Some have been great.

In the last almost 4 decades…
First wife, managed bands, second wife session singer, current girlfriend merch girl with guys from Landau, Uli Roth, Timmons, Greg Howe.
All of them super supportive only overlap with music is current.

That said it’s been years that I listened to music for enjoyment.

Nothing irks me more than a woman who is interested in a man because he is a musician, they get together and then she wants him to quit music.

My wife is awesomely supportive, has put up with a ton of noise emananting from the music room, gone to see some really shitty shows I've played, listened to me learning entire songboooks of bands, and puts up with far-too-frequent deliveries of new gear. She's a keeper.

Our musical tastes rarely overlap, so I try to be conscientious of not bombarding her with my choices.

My thank god he is my ex singer is still trying to convince the whole world it wasnt because of her. Every show was an emotional outburst from her until he quit. Fkkn dream killers, dude. All this guy wanted to do was front his band until they carried him out in a stretcher one day. All of a sudden at 72 he decides he is too good to play bars and swears it wasnt because of her.
