While technically not the specific date this forum opened, it was 3 years ago around this date that we opened to the public!
First and foremost, thank ALL of you for making this place what it is! I may be biased, but it's definitely my favorite forum I've participated on in 30 years on the internet! This forum became more than I expected it to be right out of the gate and that's entirely due to the collective of people we have here. Despite passing the 3,000 member mark, you have all helped us maintain the vibe we set out for this place at the very start and that is absolutely badass!
Though I may have griped and written a few 'Don't make me turn this car around!' posts as we've gotten bigger, it's been endearing and motivating to see and know so many of you put the effort in to maintain that vibe because it shows us there's a higher level of care for this place than what's offered at other forums. It's precisely why it makes our jobs not feel like jobs the overwhelming majority of the time or even bat an eye when it's time to pay the hosting fees.
I know one of my personal goals for this place was to create an open dialogue with the companies we buy the gear from so we can get the things we want out of that gear and this past year marked the first time we started getting some freebies thrown in the mix! @FractalAudio, @Digital Igloo and @IK Multimedia lead the pack when it comes to interaction and making that goal a reality. Huge thanks from the mod/owner team to those three gents as I believe their interaction here was one of the first things that gave us legitimacy and considering many of us here greatly rely on their products to carry out our creative visions, I'm overjoyed that they take the time to share their insight here, or add things to their products or push things up the ladder based off posts seen here.
And speaking of the gear, @SillyOctpuss hit us up a couple months back with a badass offer- as a way of showing his gratitude for the forum he's going to be running a contest, giving away a custom pedal build for the winner! There'll be a post on that popping up today, make sure ya get in on it!!
I look forward to another year of laughs and the scrutinizing of the gear we care about so much and most importantly, simply enjoying this community you have all had a hand in creating and upholding.
