That does not look in any way practical. How are you supposed to see the tuner?
I had a little Planet Waves tuner kinda like this. The way it worked was you used a dial to select the string you want to tune, then it shows two lights on the string and when those stop moving it's in tune. You could still pick the string and see the tuning. Novel and worked well as an ultra portable tuner long before headstock tuners became a thing.

Now, I'd just buy a headstock tuner.
