I agree, I don’t really get the gripe with loading times. Usually when I’m about to play it’s a whole process anyway, might as well turn on my equipment first and then get myself situated with my guitar etc
Right, I recently had a chat with an acquaintance in a local band. His main toy is the QC which does take a while to boot up, but you get those things ready well before the gig anyway..
His point was that the secondary backup rig shouldn't anything digital or "fail-prone". Not that digital devices are failing often but there's always a bigger risk. A small pedalboard with analog preamps, drives and other necessary FX that sounds 95% the same and the audience wouldn't notice a thing anyway in a loud venue. Takes literally one stomp to turn on and probably would survive anything thrown at it.
