This is one of the few things that I’d actually jump on from the 90’s and it wouldn’t have to be a GREAT price, just a good one.
There’s a few things from the eighties I’d like to jump on myself.

I miss the good old days!In the old days I would've said "Soon" but that phrase has been usurped by usurpers.
Are we on the same forum? The surprise is the friends we made along the way.
WHERE'S MY GOSHDARNIT SURPRISE!?!!!!!!!!!1
Paradoxically, the surprise is that there is no surprise!WHERE'S MY GOSHDARNIT SURPRISE!?!!!!!!!!!1
And for our pedal format:

Hail to the almighty VG8! I did gig for more than 5 years with that Japanese Tank. These were the times!
Multiple units changed at the rack, but the VG8 remained at the floor. Even when the Axe-FX Standard and the Axe-fX Ultra came out, I still had it on the floor. As MIDI controller to change patches, and for the V-guitars and the synth (I played with a band that required nylon or acoustic guitar for some songs).

The only improvement I would need now from Fractal is V-Guitar![]()
I wish the Variax guitars were still in production. I had one and it was sick, I wish I kept it to play around with.I never had one of those vg8 older units, but i hear they have made a bit of a comeback lately with some artists.
These days I use the new boss vg-800 and boss gm-800 with my fractal stuff and can do more with those then the older units but I guess nostalgia will always win for some.
Man, having a all in one fractal unit would be amazing. All the fractal amps and effects with the boss vg-800 alternate tunings, virtual guitars and fretboard splitting and string splitting and then add in a polyphonic synth that can be used a few times to stack sounds etc. Even if we have to use a fractal hex pickup too!
Would be AMAZINGGG all in one unit.
Sooo many good memories come flooding back haha. Miss those days.
But there were meetings about the Product Everyone Ripped Off in like 1992 where they already had All the Ideas.Everyone builds on what came before

@FractalAudio give me a nylon
I managed to recreate what the SIM XT-1 does, at the Axe-FX. Here are the instructions:In addition to adding Roland/Boss VG functionality, I'd love to add a Sim1 XT-1. Here's a link to a Sound on Sound review, if you're unfamiliar:

The company is out of business, so the IP would probably be cheap (assuming another company hasn't bought it already). The original device was not easy to use. The interface was nearly unusable in a live context, and everything about the interface and profiling was painful to use. But the sounds that it produced were excellent. I sent a PM to Matt at Fractal offering to send them mine so they could take a look, but no one replied, so I assume that using this sort of technology was not of interest. But it would be awesome to have it included in the next gen Fractal platform.

Maybe that is the reason why they did bankrupt![]()
Axe-Fx Tone Imprinting. Guitar Profiler Tone-Match Cloner (Guitar Vault, Season III) ~ SIM1 XT-1
Back in 2013 @Singtall had the great idea of creating a Guitar Vault to share pickups tonematching. Now there is a small box from SIM1 named XT-1 that can profile guitars. According to the XT-1 user manual, the profiling procedure is similar to the Axe-FX Tone Match. I don't know if they use...forum.fractalaudio.com
Electro-Harmonix has an interesting technology that allows some polyphonic wonders using the regular pickup: MEL9, SYNTH9, KEY9, C9, B9, STRING9... Cliff said a while ago that he made an inquiry into buying Electro-Harmonix, but there was no interest. That would have been amazing!
If buying still doesn't work, a joint-venture to develop a product would be great
Mike Matthews, the boss, seems to be a tough guy
With a tough story:

That story is priceless. Real killer shiz
There is another story at The New York Times, but I do not have access. Anyone with an account can copy/paste or print to pdf?
