The new Fractal store is still doing the weird shipping thing:

More expensive shipping if you bundle them:

On all of them I chose the cheapest shipping possible.

Can't wait for this to come down the line! :D

"Added “Surround Delay” type to Delay block. This type produces “rotating” echoes that appear to move around the listener. The Rotation parameter determines how rapidly the echoes rotates. With Rotation at 100% the echoes will rotate 180 degrees each time (front, back, front, etc). At 50% the echoes will rotate 90 degrees (front, right, back, left, front, etc.). Negative values will cause the echoes to rotate in the opposite direction."

Ohhhhh I’m definitely eating some of my mushroom chocolates when I update!!

I wonder if it's any different than just using Cliff's settings in the dual delay 🤔

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Notes

31.00

Improved preamp modeling in Amp block. This yields more accurate harmonic response and better feel. NOTE: The Preamp Tube Hardness parameter functions differently now. Existing presets are automatically updated to the default value for the amp model.

3 hours late with that news :P

Please ignore how this goes against the logic of every other post I’ve made here re: my guitar rig in recent months (lol), and please answer me one quick question: is now a bad time to get a FM9 mkII Turbo?

I know that’s the dumb question everyone hates (justifiably—sorry! Please don’t hate me!), but I’m mainly asking because I’m actually not familiar with Fractal’s longterm support of previous gens. I’m assuming that even IF next gen Axe FX comes out next spring or something, then it’ll probably be a while before a future FM9, and that the current gen will get continued support for a couple years after that…and I know no one can tell me when things will come out, but yeah I’m curious about what to expect here.

I’m kind of decided at this point that I’m either continuing down my current road (tube preamp > power amp sim) and getting a VP4, getting an FM9, or waiting and getting a Stadium. I had previously considered the FM3 a few times in this very thread, but I know it won’t actually solve many of the reasons I’d go back to a modeler-centric workflow.

Thank you!!

I need to look at some photos of FM9 rigs with a few other pedals around it. Always feels like it’s going to be unwieldy and huge, but I don’t want to give up a few of my DIY drive and fun mod pedals.

UPDATED https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/axe-fx-iii-firmware-31-00-public-beta-2.216600/

Improved power amp modeling in Amp. This yields a more controlled low end, especially for non-MV amps.

Added “Surround Delay” type to Delay block. Negative values will cause the echoes to rotate in the opposite direction.

Added “Auto Delay” switch to Cabinet block. When ON the IR is delayed by the appropriate amount based on the Distance parameter (time alignment is turned off). The user can add additional delay using the Align tab. Note that the actual delay can be less than the displayed delay as all IR delays are normalized to the shortest delay (so as to minimize overall latency). The Align tab has been changed to display the delay in ms rather than distance to reduce confusion with the Distance parameter.

Various other fixes and improvements.
