I have to look further into it but I doubt the SPDIF connection is any better on the Clarett line, other things may be better but I’m not sure it would necessarily matter to me in this situationYeah noticed that.

Think I’ve found the one reason the VP4 is not a good audio interface candidate, unless I’m doing something wrong. At 0db/ flat preset output, it’s way too loud to play during quiet hours. If I turn that volume down enough to monitor at an acceptable volume, the signal becomes too weak for Logic. My solution now is using the VP4 as input and my Scarlett Solo as output for recording which I guess is just accomplishing the same thing at the end of the day. I am admittedly dumb af when it comes to this stuff though, it could be me.
I did and it didn’t change anything at all, I was hoping it would. I don’t care about input monitoring in Logic, I’m monitoring straight out of the VP4. I’ll take another crack at it soonThere's USB volumes in the vp4 set up, maybe mess with them?
If you get the 16i16, post up about how it is. I'm curious how the guitar inputs are at this point. Good specs though, otherwise. They do and they’re more expensive by $200
I mean, I get that he didn't color code his response. But surely you can compute 4-1 without needing to confirm your answer?
It would be cool if they turned it into like the input gate and have the option to implement it right there, OR the option to use an IR block if for some reason you didn’t want it first in the chain. I’m happy though I don’t need a lot of effects going on at the same time, 3 post cab fx are plenty for me.So you're actually saying 4 -1 = 3
I sort clarification because I recalled some discussion earlier on in the VP4 release about whether or not if an IR block was added, and as its not like an effect you need to turn on-off, that it might or should-best-be added as an internal block that would be accessible through the Global settings.
Probably not really an issue if you are using the VP4 in a traditional "real" guitar cab setup. but if you are using it in an "FRFR" / Direct kind of setup, that leaves you only 3 Blocks for "effects" .

B.t.w ^^^ its there for a reason :)
I had fun last night dialing in my own mix in CabLab with the York Recto pack - much better experience than going through the regular York recto IR pack I've been using for like a year. Definitely adds a ton of value to the VP4 and I do like that I'm limited in blocks tbh - KISS.Damn!! This IR Player Block is pretty amazing for VP4 owners!
NDSP- Promises to add a feature in their new QC, that tons of early-adopters want, then never delivers (or did they finally...?)
FAS- Adds a fantastic feature to an already-great unit that wasn't even hinted at, that totally levels-up the VP4.
They'd need to use a special process to load them, otherwise people would start distributing proprietary IRs... Because "people"Including them on the website not on the device.
To be fair, I would imagine that it is pretty simple for FAS to deliver an IR block for a device like this. Not sure why it seems sensible to compare delivery of this to some other manufacturer’s vague ‘feature’ which may or may not have any kind of comparable scope; and is targeted to a completely different class of device. Fractal’s a great company but making it somehow a point of comparison vs something else so clearly orthogonal is a stretch to the point where it seems pretty irrelevant. IMHO.Damn!! What do you mean? They said since launch that "it was under consideration" : https://forum.fractalaudio.com/thre...mpact-multi-fx-processor.208713/#post-2607516FAS- Adds a fantastic feature to an already-great unit that wasn't even hinted at, that totally levels-up the VP4.

The added bonus of using a DynaCab pack is a huge cherry on top for me too, I didn’t expect that when I heard they were doing an IR block (mostly because I knew little about them in the first place). Their DynaCab shop is very limited, I mean I’m fine at the end of the day with just a recto cab 8 days of the week, but it would be nice for others I’m sure to have a lot of DynaCab pack options. To be fair it was the number one wish on the forum for the vp4![]()

Recto is the only amp/cab in existence as far as I'm concerned. Everything else is wrong. People keep mentioning that the AxeFX has all these other amps and cabs... Like hundreds of them... Still not quite sure what they're talking about.
The used/refurb market is your friend. I saved a total of 350 on the Clarett+ unitsThey do and they’re more expensive by $200
What are those weird things on the sides? Are they cat towers?
