Fractal Talk

i meant "get them off" to also use them somewhere else lol not just "delete dis" i spent 2 days doing every single SM57 location/angle combination of HX recto cab when the new line 6 cabs came out
You could export them using Fractal Bot, but you’ll only be able to use them with other Fractal devices in any case.

That I don't know.......I thought you meant they were locking up the unit.......at least that's what the pretty picture indicates......

Did a little programming this morning/last night..

I reverted back to using geek mode on this midi captain. It's not as cool as the super mode but at least I can program the thing right on the pedal itself. I was attempting to program super mode via text editor last night when I already had a headache, and I was chasing my tail. Beer may have been a factor.

So far I've got two pages:
Three external controller switches along the top and a tuner switch, with three presets along the bottom and tap switch. Page two has 8 switches for scenes.

The tweakability is awesome and although I haven't matched my Helix tones 1:1, after a while I didn't really try too hard anymore because what I was hearing was great. I might dig around into some more amp models to see if i can get that midrange compression of the HX Badonk. FAS Modern has a little of that but it isn't "out front" like the Badonk.

If you are able to get close but not quite there on the Fractal you might want to try the tone match feature.

Good shout but I've tried to tonematch this behavior with other software and it doesn't do the thing. NAM gets close. It's more of a feel thing rather than a sound.

Moot point anyway as the FAS Modern II gets me those compressed mids. I've actually gone overboard with the deep parameter tweaking and exaggerated the shit out of that sound, to the point that it made it unpleasant and I used the input EQ to dial it up/down.

I'm in love! No gaps between preset changes. I could live in these 3 presets using the channels for different variations of the same amp model without even touching controllers or modifiers.

My only hurdle at this point is my fuzz sound. It's about 80 to 90% there

So was watching Cooper Carters video on his Rosanna patch from Luke
and wow Is there that much difference in CPU HP from and AXE FXIII to a FM-9

Same patch and settings on my FM9

And Coop's patch on AXE FX III

thats almost Double
Is that Normal ??

Yes the FM9 is pretty much 50% of the A3
True, but the Reverb and Delay run on a dedicated core so that CPU doesn't count.

Just downloaded that preset......he must have a turbo.....it's at 50% on my Mark I.
Most likely...

I also found out that if I massage the Master Feedback and Motor Speed of some of the tape delays, I get the oscillating pitch variance I missed!

That's one thing I miss using modelers versus pedals---especially analog. That creative and
instantly gratifying manipulation of sound. No ones bending over to tweak their modeler
on the floor, are they? :idk

Heck, I have often thought about some kind of add-on that is not the FC-6 or 12 and instead
includes knobs for assigning modifiers to manipulate the sound more readily. The all knobber!

Yes.

That's what the knobs are for:

Everything is programmed, assigned rest is all footwork I dont like to bend down

Rolling around on the floor is for the young and the drunk. And I am no longer either of those.

I spend half my day either crouched down to talk to children, bent over to serve them food, on the floor changing their diapers, or folded into one of those plastic Playskool picnic tables.

These kids keep me young!
