Fractal Talk

Man, I need to sit down with that Pitch Follower and tweak some of my live presets. I’m already running into “I don’t wanna be running to my pedalboard every 15 seconds” and for a lot of stuff I’m doing I can essentially use the Pitch Follower the way I would an expression pedal or momentary switch without being at the board.

This is incorrect. The FM9 provides a clock on the SPDIF out when you set it to INTERNAL and it works just fine with the VP4 in a full digital I/O connection scenario.

Cool. I'll give this a try again with my Axe-FX III and FM9. I tried to do this in 2021 and was unsuccessful. Was there an update that would have changed things or was it just user error on my part?

There was definitely a time early in the VP4s history where this didn't work so the confusion here is very understandable.

I haven't tested this with my AFIII but I would be surprised to hear it didn't work there.

I have a feature request in to make OUT3 and IN3 digitally routable on the FM9 as well. I'd rather lose OUT3/IN3 for this than OUT2/IN2. I make good use of OUT2 for my backline, live, right now.

FM9 Firmware Version 9.0 public beta (2) is now available for download :D

I'm usually not one to buy stuff like "protective screens" for my gear. But I may actually put one on the FM9. I occassionally hit some of the knobs reaching for the AirTurn pedal when I'm playing live. So it's got me thinking a protective screen might actually be a good idea....

I may have asked you this before, but why run both units?? Also what are the various knob boxes on the back row doing??
