Fractal - Missing Bass Freq?

So the Stadium is missing highs and Fractal is missing lows. There's got to be something that hits that sweet spot in between

Your real amps right now:

320

You need to run both in parallel:bonk

Or just pick one and dial it in. Matching knob positions doesn't work on analog pedals or amps either. Too much piece to piece variations, especially on older or hand wired stuff.

If one has too much mids, dial them back. Too much highs and low, use cuts. That shit gets done in the studio or mixer when using real amps anyway, so yeah, stop dialing in with your eyes and I bet they all sound both better and more similar...even if there is a bug in Stadium.

Yeah, that’s what I’m doing. Also, I don’t have a problem with how Stadium sounds, but I welcome any and all bug fixes.

I should do a shootout between the PS170, BAM200 and the Fryette PS100 and just keep everything flat. I was quite surprised with how much things changed.
I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts on these. The Fryette is outside my price range, but the PS170 is an upgrade (from BAM200) I'd consider - if it were warranted.

I actually prefer the BAM over the PS170 due to a perceived “nicer” top end, but I suspect that to be highly subjective and is probably more related to my weird ear/treble issues where I hear treble differently day to day. While the PS170 is flat with everything at noon and the BAM needs to be set flat, I’ve never used either with the flat settings. At most I’ve dialed presets in with them flat, but then tweaked the EQ’s depending on which room I was in.

The PS170 is likely going to be listed for sale this weekend, I’m actually hitting a point where even I feel there’s too much gear in my apartment and I’m the only one who sees it. :rofl

big ass transformers carry guitar signal on a 60Hz power wave, power tubes compress it dynamically, register dependant. for high notes 12th fret and up on the E and B string, if u just boost 20db at 70Hz, that's the sound. but that huge bass headroom is supposed to compress down out of the way when you slam a power chord. there's most focus on accurate distortion, there's not a lot if any focus on dynamic Eq at the moment

I think we’re on parallel paths. Having both the Stadium XL and AM4 here has definitely encouraged me to re-explore the modeler -> poweramp -> guitar cab route. It’s more curiosity than anything.

From what I’m reading, all these class D amps are using the same power amp module wrapped in a different box. I’m starting to look at old crown rack power amps, I think they may be better candidates for reproducing all the transient content class D can’t quite handle.
