Successful maiden voyage with the AM4. Hardware is very solid. I just ran a couple presets and stumbled through figuring out presets and scenes switching. So far so good.

Can anyone tell me if a simple monophonic one octave down pitch shift is possible using the chorus block on the AM4?
No, you can’t use a chorus to do pitch shifting. You can only use a chorus to do a periodic vibrato type of pitch effect.

I'm not usually one of the loudest complainers when it comes to G66's pricing. Those guys gotta eat, too. And yes, their warranty is 3 years. Nevertheless, the price for the AM4 seemed a bit high to me. So I made a table with the different Fractal products to see how much G66 actually charges extra per device. And I have to say, the additional charge for the VP4 and AM4 is quite steep, higher than for all other products. Until yesterday, the VP4 actually cost 100 EUR less, but G66 has now ‘adjusted’ this and brought it in line with the AM4.
I find that a bit questionable. But what can you do? I still want an AM4.

Their costs are not going to all be percentage based, so it’s not unreasonable or unexpected to see a higher upcharge for lower priced items on a percentage basis.
Are the overall rate egregious? Hard to say without seeing their costs structure, but I am currently working with a company looking to sell a European distributor of American and Asian made products, and their markups are mostly between 35-40% resulting in a pre-tax profit of only about 4-5%.

Pretty much all serious and large retailers offer 3 years warranty. That's not an USP of G66 IMO.
I think G66 is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, obstacle why not more Fractal products are sold in Europe compared to if they were available at regular retailers. Yes, G66 provides an amazing service and it makes you feel "VIP" because it's very nice. But it limits reach and it makes the products unnecessarily expensive. Besides, I've gotten great service from Thomann too so paying up to 25% premium for something that you can get from regular stores too.. is not very appealing.

People complaining about a feature the company never claimed it to have, nor ever have, is the weirdest shit to me. It’s like me complaining my Honda CR-V doesn’t have the 6-speed manual and engine from a Type-R. It’s not fucking supposed to.
(And yeah, I just made a car reference).
