Turning a Reverb block with Hall, Medium into a pitchy delay just by using the PITCH SHIFT feature. Just get creative and you can do quite a bit inside AM4 when needed! Be perfect if someone needs 2 delays on AM4 with some quirky pitch shifting!

It's a bit weird that they dropped prices on all Fractal gear like a month ago and suddenly the AM4 comes out and the VP4 is back up to 945€ to match the AM4

Other prices didn't go back up

Fractal just figured people are gonna wanna pair the vp4 with the am4 hence no price drop

I've been out of the modelling scene for a while, however the AM4 is looking extremely appealing to me.

Even given my current horrible shipping/repair situation with FedEx and my VP4 (busted midi jack, have spent $250 so far trying to get it shipped to Fractal, FedEx/customs has dragged on for a month and a half now), which has kind of put me off buying Fractal, unfortunately, I'm really being pulled towards the AM4. Would be great for recording, home practice + backup at gigs.

Fractal has really knocked it out of the park with both the VP4 and AM4, in my opinion.

The OP is referring to G66 pricing increases not a Fractal pricing action.

It was cleaned up and Matt said it's "under investigation".

hi, considering that currently the 699usd of the am4 would be equivalent to 602 eur the price on g66 is not too high? they currently sell at 910 + shipping -> 300 eur more? with this price it gets closer to an fm3 (expecially used!) any particular reason why this price? it will go down after launch?

I believe when matt said "This matter is under investigation." it's pertaining to the price issue.

I know they provide a great service.

They do - i've bought from them. But, there're a lot of resellers in Europe providing fantastic service without a +20% upcharge. At the end of they day, they all but ship boxes and occasionally handle returns.

I know Fractal is a comparatively small operation selling direct in the US, but i never understood why they couldn't figure out overseas distribution better. A lot of other companies seem to do it just fine.

Yeah. I've had nothing but great experiences buying from G66. But due to the added cost, I'd choose to buy directly from Fractal 10/10 times if I could.

Warranty is honestly the least of my concerns with Fractal. They tend to last, therefore longer warranty is kinda pointless and certainly not a reason to pay more. EU standard 2 years is plenty.

There's no choice.

The government requires the length and transferability of the warranty as far as I'm aware, both of which aren't standard from Fractal.

So you are getting charged for that in order to be compliant.

That necessitates an additional cost.

Yeah, and two days after the ‘investigation’, they raised the price of the VP4 by 12.5% instead of offering the AM4 at a lower price.
That worked really well...

We have no idea what has transpired behind the scenes and given holidays here and then the weekend there may have been nothing yet.
