And you guy's favorite
Does anyone with a beta unit know if it comes with additional dynamic mics for DynaCabs or if it's still the 57/SM7B combo?
I have/had no expectations whatsoever. I’m in the “damn, so close, you almost got $700 from me” camp. A firmware update might even swing me. I don’t need poly pitch for retuning, but I do need a simple pitch shifter. For me if hardware can’t do it all in one box it’s not for me. Live I want simplicity, in the studio that’s what a DAW is for.Wait… you guys are complaining about what’s not included?!
Isn’t having any effects at all already more than we expected?
I thought it would only be amps, no effects
No. A channel can only have one model.I answered my own question, but what I meant, is can the CHANNEL have more than one amp model loaded into it, and, it can.
The first thing I did was look at the rear to see if it had relays for non-MIDI amp channel switching. Big disappointment in that regard.I'm one who was interesetd in the VP4 from factor untill I discovered there's no amp control out, meaning you need a midi box for switching channels,
Here's where I answered my own question.No. A channel can only have one model.
Each block has 4 channels.
Each channel can have any single model of that effect type.
With channels, the Amp block is really four amps in one. Each channel (A–D)
stores its own complete set of settings—including the cab—and can be
recalled with a tap. For example, you might set A as a clean Double Verb, B as
an edgy AC-20, C as a dimed Plexi 100W, and D as a soaring USA JP IIC+.
Comparison reason. Back when I started with vp4 and fm3 in the spring. Since the vp4 is the same size as the am4, you can see the comparison here next to the fm3.

Yeah - on the one hand, once you add a power supply to the AM4 it’s not soooooo far off. On the other…that doesn’t change how I feel about the FM3.Man, as much as i liked the FM3, that thing is a brick. The VP4/AM4 is such a great form factor.
The old "I want an Axe III for $500" starter kit (NTTAWWT)Did you even expect any of that to be included in this though? Was there some unmet expectation?
I never would have expected something that is billed as an “amp modeler” to have a pitch shifter.
Saying “you almost got $700 from me” for this is like me saying “you almost got $10 from me for that screwdriver, but for me if it doesn’t have a hammer it’s not for me”

Anyone knows how to connect FM3 to AM4? on FM3 it has Spdif out but doesn't have any input
That’s a shit analogy and you know it. It’s more like, damn I need a hammer with a claw on the back and this is just a wedge.Did you even expect any of that to be included in this though? Was there some unmet expectation?

My tonelab se has an insert as wellThis x1000
And the bellyaching over the insert design is BS. An analog insert is a better design than a placeable converted loop for this kind of device.
If you want a simple, great sounding, powerful hybrid rig option that easily fits on a pedalboard this is a stunningly good device.
I love huge presets and tons of options. But I could totally gig with this and a volume pedal and nothing else and sound truly amazing. The power and sonics of this thing in that footprint is jaw dropping.

Dsp?Wait... why did they leave off the Pitch block?
