Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Great job on the manual too, Fractal. The manuals are always good, but I think this does a great job at introducing things, and covering common mistakes and misunderstandings, for people who aren't super familiar with modeling etc. Also that "first preset" tutorial page 30 is great.

Are the cloud verb. Echo /verbs still there ?
Is there a list of all the Delays?
Also Cabs is it limited to same mics like 57 or are there others like 421 160?

The beautiful design of the AM4 is that you get ALL the delay and reverb types from the bigger brothers.
That's why it makes such a great all-in-one.

Also the trem types, chorus, phaser etc. The usual stuff found on pedalboards.

For a pedalboard setup this looks pretty badass. Put all your mono pedals up front, then hit the amp blocks + 3 reverb/delay/mod blocks for all the FAS stereo post fx. That’s 12 post fx channels and whatever else you have via the loop. The ability to go straight to your interface via SPDIF makes it pretty awesome for a direct recording rig.

(This is my plan, plus the occasional jam with headphones on the unit standalone)

Don't overlook the "For veterans" section at the end, to see what's different / new.

Yes!

If I hadn't have just ordered an FM9 (which I know I'll love), I would have SERIOUSLY considered an AM4 + VP4 combo. It solves a lot of problems I had with the FM3 for my own uses.

Great work, Fractal!

You can put the AM4 in in the send/return loop of the VP4, and use SPDIF to avoid unnecessary AD/DA conversion. This way you can put additional fx before or after the AM4, per preset.

Or use SPDIF when placing the VP4 before or after the AM4.

You can instruct the AM4 and VP4 to sync scenes.
