Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

On a fender amp, mids at 3 would seem awfully low and super scooped to me when if I recall, the fixed mids value of a deluxe is equivalent to ~8 or so. But dial with your ears and not your eyes and all that.

Right now, I use the VP4 in the loop of my MKVII head.

I use it for delays, clean boost, noise gate + modulation, as well as controlling my VII via midi and presets/scenes (switching the channels, turning reverb and/or FX loop, GEQ on/off, it's awesome).

Would there be any disadvantage to using the AM4 in this role?

(besides not having all the effects)

Thanks.

That's a question I'd also like to know the answer to. I was interested in a vp4 but the addition of amp modelling while still having most of the effects is very tempting. I'll never use it in 4cm either, I just want to run everything in front.

AM4 Faux Nocturne Block - I basically just used diffusion on my Faux Halo block to get in the neighborhood of the Keeley Nocturne Pedal.

Some rough parameters to pedal knob mappings:

AM4 parameter | Keeley Nocturne knob
Master Feedback => Decay
Tone => High cut
HPF => Low cut
Master Time => Pre-delay
LFO 1 Mod Depth => Modulation

Here's with Master Feedback set to 200%:
