I really like some of the tones I’m getting out of the AM4, but I think I hit a deal breaker today. It seems the best Fractal space echo option is the 4 head delay in the multi-delay block. That’s unfortunately not available in the AM4.

That one’s on me for not identifying that ahead of time, as it’s an essential tool. Bummer.

(...) Unfortunately kind of a deal breaker so lm getting set up to send this back. (...)

(...) The Marshall Superleads are generally more in line with my preferences on the Fractal side as well.

The upcoming IIC+ model in Stadium will make things more interesting. I’m pretty bummed about the Stadium Plexi though. Just NOT at all what I was looking for. I’ll mourn the Fractal Superleads for a minute.

I think the two of us could agree on a lot of things, but I believe we differ on at least one point: I’d always put more emphasis on the amp sims than on a particular delay sim when deciding which modeler to buy. I’m a bit baffled that you seem to prefer Fractal’s amp modeling, yet are prepared to return the AM4 because of your specific Space Echo preference.

I actually prefer Agoura’s amp models outside the Superlead, which Fractal takes hands down. There could be other exceptions as more Agoura amps arrive. I also wouldn't say that I prefer L6 effects, as I think Fractal can achieve results I may prefer in several cases.

What L6 does REALLY well is hand me a space echo on a platter locked to tempo when I’m inspired and need a space echo to get the idea happening with as few hurdles as possible. That’s not to disparage Fractal in any way. I sincerely enjoy the AM4, and I appreciate the additional depth they expose. It’s more of a workflow thing than a quality thing. I’d love it if there was a lower barrier of entry to get something like the space echo happening on the Fractal side. I had to read half a wiki and like 10 threads to that’s to get traction. Nonetheless, once I figure it out, I’m sure I can save it as a favorite or something to make recall easier.

Save it in a block library!

OK - then I simply misunderstood your point of view.

You know it would almost be funny but your probably not wrong lol
Pretty frequently if there is a comparison where a competitor fares better or has something not in the Fractal
Boom 💣

Ok so I had a couple mins to stumble through getting an LFO assigned to the motor and blah blah blah. This is my first pass at a space echo in Fractal land. It's not perfect, it's not quite where I want it, but it's a start.

Share your space echo L6 settings if the Stadium thread if you get a chance. I tried messing with it this afternoon but I had zero idea how to get anything that made sense with my turd-tier nu metal riffs

Space echo is kind of a big, ambient beast. I could see it on some LB or Korn clean parts but it’s almost certainly gonna get in the way on heavy riffing.

I’ll try to get a preset together though.

Had time to actually play it tonight. Was in a bit of a foul mood for reasons so was just in room with lights out, pitch black but for AM4 screen. Was able to use this thing, building presets from scratch, going in and editing as I played, in total dark working only by feel.

Granted, I'm not knew to Fractal. But I don't think I could do that on my III and I've been using an FM or III as my daily driver for over five years.

yeah I just tried cleans with it - just defaults - its kind a neat sound actually - but yeah I don't see it with heavy riffs

Just got done cleaning my AXE-FX 3 and FM9 block library files and getting rid of duplicates and stuff. I have 1,238 :D

And I have 235 for AM4 / VP4 :D
