An amp and cab pedal would be killer. No effects. Was that FM0?
No. That was not FM0. I can't imagine wanting anything less than the AM4 w/ amp/cab modeling in it. "Oh, I can have this one thing that amps/cabs and ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the glorious Fractal reverbs in it or I can have this other thing with just the amps/cabs for a buck fitty less?"

Leon has said on many occasions he would die for a Multi Delay in a pedal I think line of FAS stomps could definitely be in the cards

It’s weird because on one hand it could make all the sense in the world for FAS to leverage their effects in a bunch of standalone pedals. On the other hand, the FAS base already has all these effects at their disposable in a variety of formats, including an existing effect pedal.

I guess the question is how much they think they could penetrate the larger pedal market, or would they be banking on FAS users running this MTD pedal into the VP4 into the AM4 into an AxeFx? :ROFLMAO:

I think a well thought out delay pedal could (1) be useful in ways the VP4 isn't and (2) open up the eyes of WAAAAAAAAAY more people to why Fractal stuff is incredible. Though that's somewhat predicated on there never being a waitlist for the thing.

When I saw that the upcoming FA pedal power supply could run three hungry pedals, I immediately thought to myself that there must be a third ‘4’ pedal on the way AM4+VP4+??4.

It’s all a big yawn to me. I like my FM9 Mk2 Turbo just fine, and see no need to split it up. Now a new flagship, OTOH, would be a must buy. Just because.

AxeIV vs the firmware for Kemper v2 thats already been released but doesnt do the thing that you bought it 6 months ago for.

I think the "surprise" Cliff alluded to will be some form control via phone/tablet.
That would be interesting and I certainly would not mind have AM4 edit or a version of it on phone
I think it will definitely be in next gen but I am not so sure in this one

He had a Help Wanted ad up..., maybe almost 2 years ago now..., I'd say at least a year ago, wanting someone that could do that type of work. That makes me think, 1) He found that person and has had them for some time now, and 2) The new units (AM/VP4) were built with that support, but just didn't have the software work completed, and he didn't want to hold up their launch.

OTOH, I could be wrong about all of it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (except the help wanted ad- I read it myself.)

The AM4 videos have me curious about the new interface. I just sold the Kemper player and have been thinking of either trying out the am4 or downgrading the rack axe 3 to an fm3 or fm9.

The Axe-Fx IV is not imminent. The new product I alluded to is something different.
Fractal One - The only amp sim you need. It just has a gain knob on it. No settings, no editor.
What amp is it based on? It changes every time you boot it up!

YouTuber testimonials:

EytchPi42: "GAME CHANGER!"
John Cordy: "We need to talk about the Fractal One"
Leon Todd: Rustling of luscious hair
Ola Englund: "Does it chug? Damn right it chugs!"
Tone Wars: Riffs on Fractal One sleevelessly
KDH: "Scoop! Outrage! What do the Kardashians think of the Fractal One?!"

I wouldn’t begrudge them for doing it. They could make a compelling FAS Timeline, Big Sky, Mobius, Dig, El Cap etc. But I’d be curious to see if FAS could penetrate the pedal market, even with their killer algos. The big pedal companies have design aesthetics and marketing that aren’t particularly strengths of FAS, and if the core user base already has these tones in multiple form factors, I’d be curious how they’d land in the market.

If they’re going the pedal route, I would hope it’s with a new effect type/pairing or some sort of novel control scheme etc.

I think the delay+reverb market is a bit underbaked when basically the best product is still the Source Audio Collider and nobody has been able to dethrone it.

If Fractal were to release a similar product with their algorithms, I'd jump on that because I love Fractal delays and reverbs.

VP4 is still quite large in comparison.
