I used to have the Eminence Maverick, which had a knob on its back that would move the magnet. This allowed its sensitivity to be reduced from 100 dB all the way down to 91 dB. It did change the tone to something smoother, with bass becoming more dominant, but you could counter it with amp settings as long as you didn't have a super dark sounding amp.

With this new speaker being 92 dB, you can definitely crank your amp into it and get fairly low volumes from what I remember. But I think I think it might make it just too quiet to be anything but a home solution.

I wish they had explored the FDM knob system of the Maverick and Reignmaker more. To me the main issues with it was the lack of speaker options and that it was only suited for single speaker open back combos/cabs.

92db at 1W, that's 112db at 100W.

92dB is 8dB lower than a V30. If I crank my amp through a v30 and use an attenuator to shave off 8dB, that's still pretty loud.

But maybe that's not a 1:1 comparison. I'm not sure.
