Saw someone mention this on Reddit last night and then saw it confirmed in an Edwards FB group-

Looks like all they did was change the pickups and maybe add some more models (not sure what they had available before)

Edwards is it more or less expensive than their LTD Line ?

@la szum, @Warmart and I all got our Customs for $1000-$1300, depends on the value of Yen that day.

But these aren’t LTD quality, more in line with ESP and E-II’s before they started slacking on the E-II line. They ship the materials from Japan to China where they build them in a small shop to ESP’s spec/QC, then send them back to the Japan ESP shop for final finishing. They even get the Andy Eagle seal of approval!

I had this exact guitar for a few years. Ultimately sold it because I'm more a strat guy but it was a great guitar.
The goldtop was more coppery in person, not like a proper '50s looking goldtop. 🤷🏻

The fretboard was actually roasted maple! Kinda unique.

Yeah, that coppery/orange look is EXACTLY what I'm going to instruct MJT to do when I get it. I don't like the pale/tan-gold look that much. Kinda looks like baby food or a really soft turd. :rofl

My gawd, please stop. I've always wanted a copper top ESP Eclipse - they are exceedingly rare. Don't fire up my gas, pleeeeeze for the love of all that is forkin' holy!

Wow! I wonder how they are able to do this. Some kind of binding agreement/settlement with Gibson? :idk

I know that the Japanese builders like Edwards and ESP (at-least Edwards is owned by ESP) are able to sell these guitars in Japan only.
Doesn't stop people from importing them to other countries, though. :grin
