Worth the extra cost though? An unexpected bill is always a bummer but I’d gladly have paid $100 more than I did for each of my MIJ guitars. Even some of the less expensive ones have become mainstays in my guitar rotation.

I was happy to pay the extra $100. I got really nice, unique guitars that are not readily available here in the US.
